I could not be happier with my new floors! We had our first floor done with LVP, which included some tricky steps. Kevin, Drew and George did an extraordinary job. My steps are exactly the way I wanted them, and the workmanship is outstanding. I especially appreciate their professionalism and friendliness. And Bonnie was great in keeping us updated on everything. I highly recommend Martin's Flooring of Lancaster.
The sales side of the job I couldn't ask for more. Michael did an outstanding job walking us through the process from start to finish. He was very professional, answered all our questions, and returned phone calls, and email promptly.
As for the installation process, overall was a nice job, and quick. We had our living room, dining room, and hallway updated with Luxury Vinyl Planks. There are a few quirks ( door threshold not caulked, heating/ac vents need more attention, and some small areas around holes in the floor that need addressed.) that Michael is aware of and will be taking care of internally.
I would highly recommend Martin's Flooring for any project you a considering in the future. We will definitely be back!!
Attached are a few below and after pictures.
Horrible experience. Sub contractors showed up. They had the vinyl plank flooring with them, but no baseboards. Martin's had gotten that wrong. After going outside to call their boss, they started work. Throughout the day I was amazed at how fast the vinyl plank was going down, in my contract I paid for 4 hours of floor leveling. They started at 8:15 am and left by 2:30 (the new baseboards had not been delivered yet). Approximately 575 sq. feet in 6.5 hours which included the ripping up of old carpet and padding and old vinyl. But, they told the Project Manager that they had done 3.5 hours of floor leveling! I believe they did none! There is a noticeable unlevel area in one area of the floor where a vinyl plank moves up and down when stepped on (missed in the "3.5 hours of leveling")! Plus, before they left I asked for any leftover vinyl, they said they had none. Later I discovered they delivered 3 boxes back to the warehouse.
The next day they installed the baseboards. The attached photos show how they handle problem areas. They cut a baseboard in half to accommodate a cabinet door that pulls out, and left a raw edge in another spot. I also have a transition piece that keeps popping up. In another area, they ran out of transition pieces and installed a shoe molding instead. Shoe molding piece at the front door.
All I can say is thank God for Sheldon, an employee of 25 years. He arrived to finish the baseboards and fixed the baseboard problems in the photos spectacularly. He is scheduled to fix the unlevel floor area in a couple of weeks as well as the above transition piece issues. Sheldon has the concern and know how I wish I could have had from the beginning.
Confidence was definitely not installed. Make sure you write "no subcontractors" on your agreement!
Sheldon returned and fixed all of the above issues, the uneven area in the floor, all the transition pieces, etc. He did an excellent job. Updated review from 1 star to 3.
Brandon was very easy to work with. Appreciated his professionalism as we worked through our project. We love the flooring especially with having animals. Very easy cleanup. Pics aren't the best with lighting but looks great.
Huge rip-off! Go somewhere else! I received 4 quotes for a LVF job. Martin's Flooring, Lancaster, was the second most expensive but I believed their sales pitch about professionalism and guaranteed quality work. From the moment they had my 50% deposit it was downhill. Many delays in getting the work done and when they finally did the install it was rushed shoddy work. In addition to LVF I had them install trim. They used cheap particle board not wood. I took pictures of the poor workmanship and filed my complaint. They sent a person out to evaluate. They agreed to replace the trim but said the floor install was adequate even though they admitted it wasn't the best layout according to manufacturer’s recommendations. The second trim install was delayed and again a rushed job but acceptable. Everyone was polite, but overall, I believe they are deceptive and lack integrity.
The Show Room Manager and I spoke Mon. 1/24/22. He apologized that this unfortunate experience happened and said they would use it as a learning tool. The conversation was unproductive and felt insincere. I stand by my review.
