All of our family reunions are spent there. Love it..
You can visit thhe homestead of Marjorie and learn about life in her time. This costs a small fee. Next to the homestead is a park with playground, a boat ramp, and some bank to fish from. I have caught bass and crappie here. Beware the occasional 'gator.
Fascinating and well maintained historic property. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly and eager to talk about the history of the area as well as the property and its most famous resident. An interesting day trip and a throwback to old Florida. Some of the less appealing aspects of Rawlings' life are downplayed but that is to be expected of a state-run property. Overall a neat place to check out and the guided tours are well worth the $2 fee.
What an amazingly quaint little state park! Not much to do but tour the property and her 1930's farmhouse.
Learn of a time gone by. See where Marjorie actually wrote her books.
It's very well kept and it looks like Majorie just stepped out!
Always a beautiful serene and peaceful area. Even in August the breeze from the lake made for a pleasant visit.
Florida at it best in 1930th-1950th.very informative and entertaining enjoyed very much.
All natural, the vast majority of things are original, and beautiful. I accompanied my mother here the Sunday following mother's day. A man toured us with much information that was tastefully delivered. He was able and willing to answer questions, and there was not one he didn't know that I asked him. Very calm and lovely, with authenticity that isn't found everywhere!
Cute place to spend a few hours. Home and trails are well kept. Nice little hidden treasure of Florida.
We have watched the movie and been here several times this woman's story is amazing and the place is big an they let you wonder around her property and it's a free historical place to go beautiful
Great little treasure of Florida history. You can only view the home if you go during a group tour session, so make sire you check schedule before arriving. We had to wait an hour when we came because we missed last tour (our fault for not checking times before coming). We loved it here
