Here is my take :
Pros :
Good View of the Lake.
Good Location with close proximity to the village.
Outdoor play area on ground floor and a pool area.
Cons :
Bad Air quality in rooms. Don't know if it was leak from heater or something else.
Uncomfortable Mattress.
Terrible Shower. Shower pressure is very bad (and I stayed in the new remodeled room).
False Promotion. I am an Expedia VIP member and this hotel sent an email through expedia offering free Wine bottle upon Check-in. They did not give it to me saying that they ran out and neither acknowledged me as a VIP member. (Bethany was the receptionist). On top of that they charged a resort fee that wasn't mentioned in my booking.
The layout of the hotel resembles a Motel with cars directly parked outside room doors and no security. Someone knocked at our room at 11.30 pm and I saw a man outside our room looking stoned.
Though this property might be better than some low quality motels, due to the cons listed above, I am definitely not returning to stay at this property again !
Nice rooms next to the lake. The place is great, but the room service, really bad. Nobody cleaned our room in three days! And the time someone went was in the afternoon, when my kids were sleeping (around 4 pm). Good price, nice place, bad service.
The price is great for the amenities you get. We had a pool level room that has two queen beds and view of the lake. There are two barbeques (charcoal) lighted for night use, equipped with grill brush and sink with running water. The staff is very friendly. They have fresh coffee every morning in the office starting at 7:30, or a coffee pot in all rooms with package coffee.
Excellent friendly customer service, clean and newly remodeled room, comfortable bed, and all rooms have lake a view. Central location right next to the Village ( shopping, dining, entertainment, and drinks). Would definitely stay here again.
I've been coming to this place for 17 years and I can tell about the detriment of their customer service in fact they have a "couldn't careless" customer service.
I was in my room with my wife and the front desk employee, I think her name was Laura, got into my room eventhought after we said we were inside the room! we said busy! but she couldn't care less and open the door suddenly to tell us that we have to leave the room asap because it was time to check out!! We couldn't believe such invasion to our privacy, such a disrespect!!! I went to complain at the front desk and the managers on duty were hiding in another office and they refuse to talk to me!!! Unbelievable!! this people is such a bunch of white trash and low class, terrible experience. Do not go to this place they don't care about their guests at all. I will never come back!!
Not hard to find right off of bear lake Blvd. Nice and safe play ground next to resortlake is not so easy on the eyes but still better then nothing..
This is hands down one of my favorite family vacation. The marina resort is a charming lake front view quiet and family friendly place that is close to big bear village. Be sure if you come with kid get the pool side rooms, it's an easier access to the swimming pool in the summer. Definitely coming back.
Lovely. Great lakeside resort. I love that the pool faces the lake. I was here for their 4th of July Celebration and it was great! Well staffed and you are made to feel like part of the community.
Room needs to be updated and so do many smaller details. The restroom is great but the towels are way too rough!
Truly a beautiful place to stay on the lake! Clean and cozy rooms with fantastic views. Most definitely recommend.
Great location with a view of the lake. Friendly service and clean rooms.
The actual place was cool with a nice view of the lake and great distance to the Village. However don't bother asking for an early check in because they won't have your room ready until actual check in time. I don't know why they offer early check in when they don't actually do it.
Very nicely located on the lake. The rooms are decent with a refrigerator. But the walls are thin. You can hear your neighbors to the side and above you clearly whether they're talking, walking, or bathing.
Bad experience with this hotel. I would not recommend staying here. The rooms weren't ready at check in. Employees were cursing and arguing with each other. Had to ask front desk for towels, toilet paper and maid service. After waiting a couple hours I had to go to front desk to get my room supplies. The roof had a major leak and after calling front desk nobody showed up. We cleaned the leak ourselves and used 3 trash bins to collect the water. It's been over an hour and still nobody showed up.
Convenient, Clean, Cozy, and Comfortable.
It's literally across the street from all the shopping and great restaurants in Big Bear Lake and it is literally on the lake. It has everything you want in location. The rooms themselves are always clean and comfortable. It's an older hotel so it's not perfect inside, but they've done a great job with this place. The fireplace in the king room just makes the room so cozy and romantic. The bed is comfortable and there is plenty of storage. The balcony on the top floor king room is so cute and perfect for drinking coffee on in the morning. The pool is really nice too. The bathroom in the room we were in was a little worse for wear, but that's not where I'm spending most of my time so it doesn't bother me especially because the price is oh so nice. Seriously, you get a lot for your money here. As long as you don't expect a five star hotel, you won't be disappointed.
