Got there just to find out all seats taken. Hate that this is the only theater in this town. Also while patiently waiting in line for tickets people were jumping ahead and buying tickets from the computer kiosk which I am sure also contributed to no tickets left, says a lot of the types of people around here as well. No respect or manners for others. Typical WI behavior.

Visited today for the first time and we were very impressed. They kept the concession lines moving with 3 open registers, easy transaction at the box office, all with good customer service interactions. Super screen was awesome and dream loungers very comfortable.

First of all, I love the dreamloungers!! They are so comfortable and I love how you don't have to climb over people to get out of your row if you need to. I also love that there is reserved seating now. That being said, it was freezing inside the theater I went to yesterday. I left my coat on the whole time and was still having chills. I get why people bring their blankets now. I was very disappointed with how understaffed the concession stand was during a busy time (Saturday mid-afternoon). Lines were nearly out the door and there were four lines. We arrived twenty minutes before our movie started with our tickets pre-purchased and we waited as long as we could but had to ditch the line as our movie was starting. How disappointing to expect to get a big bucket of the one and only movie theater popcorn and then not be able to because the lines are ridiculous. I love the popcorn here and was frustrated that 20 minutes early wasn't early enough to get popcorn. I did love the movie though and have no complaints about the seating, screen or sound system. I'll keep coming back because it is the only theater in the area but I will make sure to get there earlier so I get my popcorn.

Theatre finally did some renovations after some competition was rumored to come about, happy to see that. The reserved seating and recliners are wonderful. That being said, the competition backed out so that is the only improvement to the theatre. This theatre is consistently understaffed for their busy show times. The lines for tickets and concessions are incredibly long, despite having multiple avenues to assist more customers in a timely fashion. Ticket prices and concessions are also very expensive, to the point I only go to a matinee or on $5 Tuesdays and only get the included popcorn. This visit we arrived 20minutes early to our movie and had to abandon the concession line to take our seats. Come 45minutes early with your ticket purchased and in hand; you should be good. Continually frustrated with this theatre, however I keep coming back because its the only theatre in town. Got this area locked down tight.

Today I was humiliated at the Rothschild Marcus Theatre near Wausau, WI.
I drove into town, across town, and into the nearest theater in my area, which is this chain called Marcus Theatres. I’ve been there many times in the past, including just this last Saturday to see films.
Today I went because it’s a Tuesday and the movies are discounted, naturally it’s a busy time. When I walked up to the ticket counter there was only one person ahead of me and I asked to see the movie. He asked for my card as they have this perks type of card which I always forget to bring so I gave him my phone number, he plugged it in. It never gives me any perks so I wasn’t too concerned. Apparently it didn’t work on their computer and he mentioned they had been having computer issues.
Then, I went to pay for the movie. My g/f had sent me a gift card because she knows how much I like to go out to the movies, wished she could go with me, and thought after all my hard work these days it would be a nice distraction.
He scanned it, and waited. I waited. He scanned it again and we both waited. I wondered if I would get charged twice for the transaction since he had scanned it twice, he said no since when it timed out it erased the payment time. Apparently, his computer issues had extended to this part as well. He apologized but I said, it wasn’t his fault. I meant it too. However, I could tell people were lining up behind me. They were restless too, as though to lay blame on me, I am not oblivious to their comments. So, I turned and mentioned to the folks behind me that they were having computer issues. The guy taking the tickets said it takes about ten second for the computer to reset itself. I grinned and said, I bet that’s a long 10 seconds and he agreed. Well, it didn’t go through and he radioed his manager.
Now his manager said the computers were down because of the high winds we are having here in Central Wisconsin. Okay, but if your computers are down, then how do we go see your movies? It went back and forth for a while, the poor kid apologizing and me reassuring him that it wasn’t his fault. Finally, I said, why don’t you have your manager come over here so I can yell at the right person? I said it as a joke as there was nothing either of us could do. The crowd behind me was getting ugly. By the time this was over there were at least twenty people waiting in line behind me…but, to them it was all MY fault.
The manager explained that they couldn’t accept my gift card because their computers were down. My understanding was, because their computers were down they couldn’t accept any payments because they couldn’t assign seats in the new super comfortable reclining seats auditoriums. So, they should explain that to everyone right? She suggested I go on line and make a complaint. I said, I drove all the way over here to watch one of your movies, only to be turned away because your computer malfunctioned which is in no way MY fault. She’s like, there is nothing I can do. I said, you can let me in to watch the movie. I was still calm at this point. Instead, she again suggested I go on line. So, I should drive all the way home again, waste my gas and time, to complain on line for something she could solve easily. I pointed out that she was missing the point of customer service.

We took our 4 year old daughter to her first movie and we all had a great time! The staff was friendly and happy to be there, the popcorn was good, and the seats are amazing. We will definitely be going to more movies now that we know this theater is only an hour away, as many as fit in our budget anyway. It's $8.50 per ticket for a matinee, $8.00 for child, and the snacks are spendy, too. Seems steep for a matinee, and the whopping $0.50 savings for children isn't much incentive. Having a "cheap" afternoon showing once a week where kids under a certain age can get in for $5 and buy discounted popcorn would bring in parents with young children and lot more often.

DO NOT GO HERE! They cheat you, as their website guarantees a 46 ounce popcorn to members on 5 dollar Tuesday nights however when you actually go to the counter you get a tiny bag. Asked an employee about it and they were dumbfounded. Can't wait for the new Wausau theater to open!!!

Waited for 5 min to buy snacks but was never helped so I decided I didn't need any. Layout was very confusing. And the movie didn't start till almost 20 min. after it's scheduled time. If you like service, easy navigation, or accurate start times. Don't go here.

I'm happy that a new theater will be opening in Wausau in 2017. While the popcorn is fresh, I don't appreciate the staff opening the doors just when the credits start rolling and then herding you like cattle out the door. The movie is not over until the credits are done. They should have upgraded seating as the theater in Appleton does and ticket kiosks since two people at the ticket window isn't enough. Not to mention, the kid taking my gift card said "I'm going to hold onto this until the transaction is done" like I would be able to get into the movie having not paid the entire bill. I informed him that I knew how much was on the card and knew that additional money would need to be paid. What a joke.

Process for food ate a touch high, but otherwise it's a wonderful place to go on a movie date. Employees are polite and easy to talk to I'd you have questions. The place is kept nice and clean and always smells lovely.
