This is the worst embarkation terminal we have ever used. Sailing out of NYC two and both times we transited through these old dirty terminals. Their security procedures are inferior and they probably hire the people right off the street without any training. The person screening our luggage was so incompetent as he was too busy chatting with the guy staring at the monitor. I'm sure these two couldn't possibly find one security risk. Instead though they ignore specific requests relating to medication that cannot be X-Rayed. The parking is a fortune, luckily there are nearby lots that are half the price. Debarkation is slow and painful as each piece of luggage has to be lined up in a tiny area shared with the embarkation section of the terminal. I may live just an hour away, but at least if I fly to Florida it will be a faster more pleasant experience than this dump.

Compared to other cruise terminals, this one ranks low in appearance and average in cleanliness. It has far too few seats if your cruise boarding is delayed, (Our last boarding was delayed for two and a half hours!), and is a true fire hazard with literally thousands of people packed tightly in multiple lines in a small place with what seems to me far too few exits. On the positive side, it has restrooms, and food and drink concessions for a light meal or snack.

Returning from a cruise aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, the terminal is amazing as part of a bustling infrasture-filled city.

Once in the terminal, it's similar to moving cattle to slaughter. They don't know the chaos awaiting them. Pictured is half of the luggage we had to comb through to find a bag which was misplaced. Yes, they are color coded, but purple sometimes looks like pink, brown, or black.

The drop off to embark on the ship is not bad, but disembarking was a joke. If someone is picking you up, you actually have to cross, with luggage, the two lanes of 12th avenue and walk up 50th. There may have been another way, but we did not see ANY signage other then to cabs and we just followed the hoards of people crossing the very busy street, no one from the port authority giving any directions. Total fail!

This terminal is very well run. Large. Clean. Everybody knows their job and they move people through efficiently!!! I would definitely take another cruise out pic here before Miami!!!

Hectic but pretty quick process. We took a Carnival cruise from here. Not bad terminal. Cruise was amazing! When we returned, kinda hectic getting a cab. But was expected. Plan accordingly!

Clean, comfortable cruise ship terminal. Check-in is prompt, courteous and professional. Best to arrive before noon when lines are longer. Information is given clearly, boarding typically begins at 11:30 am.

They would get a 5 for efficiency, but a 1 for polite workers. The parking is an outrageous price, but it is very convenient and secure. We have used this terminal 8 times now and we are used to it. But they do have room in a few spots for improvement.

I went to board the cruise many times staff nice and helpful. The lines were short so there was no waiting at all. I think it was Norwegian or Royal Caribbean.

Our first time sailing from New York. Taxi trip from Manhattan was a bit of pain as access to entrance ramp not easy. Once we arrived, our heavy cases were collected immediately and our progression through to boarding was smooth and pretty quick.

Disembarkation and Customs clearance was another story! Many Stations were closed leading to long delays. I would have hated being an elderly passenger unless in a wheelchair. Once cleared, we then saw no signs to help us find our pre booked Taxi. We ended up walking across the busy road with our luggage, fending off taxi touts, to get to the Yellow Cab stance. After that, a great trip to JFK with a friendly Bangladeshi driver (in New York for thirteen years but you would never have guessed that) who insisted on treating us to a cup of tea from an Asian Deli. Sweet tea with condensed milk might not be to everyone taste, but after that disembarkation it was lovely. A tip well earned!

Chilly, customs area staff wasn't nice or helpful. I witnessed a guy who didn't speak English trying to ask a guy about the sign above the door with using the bathroom and the staff just yelled his response louder, the guy still not understanding, regardless of volume.
The line coming from the cruise was horrendous. They had us zigzag for 3 hours because there were two customs lanes staffed while two cruise lines were disembarking at the time
