I am in heaven. We've been in RV campgrounds from Montana to North Carolina, and this is the BEST. This is our first night in this campground. In the trees, a babbling stream, tiered sites to increase privacy, and meticulously clean. My husband commented that when we drove into the campground, his blood pressure dropped by ten points!
I don't get the one star reviews over "poor customer service." Our experience was the exact opposite: friendly, courteous and concerned for our delayed arrival due to RV repairs, they offered to push our reservation back a day (at no additional cost). They called to see whether we were going to make it before the gate closed. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Maybe a few of the upset reviewers created the negativity they experienced?
Nice campground but all about the money.we had reservations for the weekend of Nov 3 and 4. My mother died at 11:50 on the morning of the 3rd. Not only did they not refund our deposit, but they wouldn't even save it for another use. Had been there once before, and loved it. We will never go again.
Out new FAVORITE campground. Security gate, best WiFi ever, full services, roomy and FLAT gravel sites, and friendly staff all near the top of a mountain with seriously breath-taking views. The winding, steep-grade road up to the sites may be challenging for a new driver, but navigating IS do-able. Sites have fire pits and nice picnic tables. Hookups (water, electric, sewer) were very clean and looked new. Entire campground was very well maintained.
All this beauty and quiet serenity is only about 15 miles from Asheville with great restaurants, shopping, street entertainers, farmers market and Friday night drumming circles.
Probably the most beautiful and we'll kept campground we have ever visited. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities and very clean and well kept, and they are heated. I highly recommend and would definitely come back.
This is a beautiful topnotch campground! Impressive treed sites, fire rings, and clean picnic tables! All the amenities you need. While we're not fans of separate showers and restrooms, they were very nice. Accessible to local and regional recreation. We'll come back!
Looking to get away for Memorial Day weekend we chose to stay close to home. The wife and I both loved it, peaceful and quite, small spring came out behind our campsite and you could sit outside, hear the water trickling over the rocks and a light breeze rustling the leavesUltimate relaxing atmosphere. Super friendly staff and very clean grounds. Hooks were nicest I have ever seen and the cable was unbelievably clear. Already made reservations for our next stay.
Great place!! Very helpful and friendly staff. Bathrooms were super clean. Campground is beautiful and peaceful. We came to town for a soccer tournament so we weren't there much. But, we will definitely come back when we can enjoy the grounds more.
The staff was great. You can't ask for a cleaner campground. The bath houses are really nice and the hot water lasts a long time. They really do take pride in keeping the sites clean.
Absolutely beautiful. Very steep and narrow climb from the lower campsites to the sites with a view up top. Thanks for the guide to the top and all the help. Perfect sites up top, very clean facilities with ample room and a spectacular view. Beautiful tent and cabin sites at the bottom situated in the forest with lots of privacy. Love this place!!
We stayed at Mama Gertie's for 4 days while checking out Asheville and other near by cities. My husband and I have stayed at campgrounds all across the country and this may have been the best one we have ever stayed at! The staff was all extremely helpful and friendly, the whole campground was extremely clean, the views are beautiful and they are very dog friendly! I highly recommend this campground and we are already looking to book our next visit with them!
We were in town for a wedding and stayed in one of their cabins for the weekend to avoid Asheville's expensive hotels! The cabin and facilities were very clean and had everything we needed. Our cabin backed right up against a little stream, it was gorgeous and secluded. The highlight of our stay was when a BLACK BEAR walked through the site next to ours and across the stream, about 20 ft away from us!! We had so much fun and will most definitely be back - hopefully for a longer stay!
Love these folks! Friendly staff, and very nicely laid out & landscaped park on the side of a mountain. There is something here for everyone from tents to cabins to RVs of all sizes. For the largest rigs, they can accommodate you, but do not understate the size of your RV & toad or tow vehicle as they know exactly what will (and won't) fit on a specific site. Please note that as of this review (spring 2017) there is a housing development being constructed on the adjacent mountainside. Some have complained about the noise it did not bother us. I found the WiFi spotty at times, and the water pressure seemed variable. We've already booked another stay.
