They've got a huge selection in their lunch buffet. The food was decent though the service was not friendly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as well. Madison has lots of good Indian restaurants, Maharani is solidly in the middle of the pack.

Food is a 5/5, but staff is just rude. They do not know how to communicate with customers, feels like they are just waiting to serve you food and take your money and be on the way. Prefer Indian Dhaba over this restaurant. Parking is also an issue.

Service is awesome, everyone is always really nice. The food is a bit rich - but definitely nice on a special occasion. The 'hot' option really is pretty dang hot so that's a plus.

Had reservations!!! Waited way too long for water. They didn't even take our dinner order until we were almost done with the appetizers (??) That being said, the food was great! And the workers were friendly, just not on top of the game. And it wasn't busy.

Awesome lunch buffet with really good vegetarian options - they bring out naan w/ ghee (crispy buttered flatbread), and you can find stuffed paratha on the buffet table, along with a whole selection of desserts.

Really, really good! It's a few blocks from work, and just fabulous.

Excellent customer service, food was delicious if you don't mind paying more than your standard $10 meal. The place was cute but was a little outdated. Don't let that deter you though, they were really accommodating!

I think this is the best Indian restaurant in town. The flavor of the food is very unique and distinct from other Indian restaurants. It is probably Americanized Indian food but still tasty!!! I imagine real Indian food has to be even better!

This review is for the lunch buffet. Lots of choices in the buffet, both favorites and items I would not order at dinner but enjoy trying at lunch. My vegetarian relative loves this restaurant.

I was there last night just before closing and they were as nice as can be! Excellent food and they included table service for take out when they knew I was in a hotel. The grocery next door had beverages to go and I was set! Excellent food and better service. Thank you.

Straight up the best Indian food you can get downtown (or potentially anywhere in the city). They even deliver, which - if you're within about a mile radius - is just as good as going there.

If you are a vegetarian and disappointed with your options in Madison, you must hit this restaurant. The veggie dishes are not weighed down by butter and oil, and you can done here regularly without clogging up your coronaries. I found the service to be fine and the location is great if you live near the square. Very highly recommend!
