Great place to spend some time! They have a bunch of insects, reptiles & amphibians to look at before you enter the butterfly area. The butterfly enclosure is huge and really well maintained. They've got hundreds of cocoons behind glass that are actively hatching or recently hatched that you can look at before they release them back into the enclosure. They could use some updating though - everything seems very outdated in style, like you just walked into the 80s or 90s. Even the gift shop could be updated to offer things that more people would be interested in buying - most of the other people there were in their 20s or 30s, some with kids, but everything for sale looked like it was aimed at an older crowd if it wasn't in the toy section. I'd definitely recommend stopping by though!
An amazing trip. My husband, mom, sister, and my son all went and had a blast. There is a cafe which is responsibly priced and a gift shop where you get your tickets. There is a room before the butterflies which has geckos and snakes. Then you go into a room with mirrors which will let you see if you have butterflies on you. Then you enter the room which is pretty big, the butterflies are everywhere and lots of food for them. Be careful because there are some birds but also some butterflies fly close to the ground.
This place is awesome. You literally walk into a world of butterflies. From all shapes and sizes. Hundreds are visible at any given time. There are a few different Coy ponds and birds wandering free. We even saw a hummingbird. And all the plantlife in the place are real and amazing. An absolutely beautiful place.
Beautiful place with a friendly staff. They are very informative. The people in the gift shop are not trained to answer even basic knowledge about the place or when plants go on sale. Though I love butterflies, I absolutely love tropical plants and would have loved to be told when I can expect to see them for sale
This place is a great place to bring kids. There are butterflies from all over here and they are very active, flying all around the visitors. The beautiful, tropical greenhouse where they are kept is beautiful in its own right. They also have terrariums here with various kinds of other insects and some reptiles and amphibians. The place also has a small cafe and a room with tables where children can color pictures of butterflies.
Magic wings is on route 5 just north of the Yankee Candle complex.
Amazing experience. 🦋 (The homemade signage of dos and don'ts was a little weird.) But the staff was friendly and the butterflies were the rainbow of breathtaking colors. (blue morpho) Bring your camera! 📸 😊 You'll want to take pictures! Truly fascinating.
We seize every opportunity to go here. The butterflys are amazing and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are not exceptional, but it doesn't matter. Surprisingly, the little on site cafe serves good and inexpensive food. Highly recommended.
Monarch's Restaurant, attached to Magic Wings is one of the best local restaurant's in the area. The food is always spot on delicious. Their prices are very reasonable and service, fast and friendly. The Staff is always AMAZINGLY friendly.
Whenever I am asked for recommendations for restaurants, they are at the top of my list.
Dress is casual as it is attached to a tourist attraction.
However that does not mean that this is not an upscale restaurant.
If you are in the area, please stop in. You won't regret it. 🍽
Wonderful place to take the kids to learn about butterflies and see them in action. You have to be very careful to not step on butterflies or injure them or staff will ask you to leave. There are places to eat and beautiful items in the gift shop. You can even buy a cocoon and butterfly tent to watch the butterflies hatch and release them at home.
Quite nice, a little pricey, especially for such a small place, but what can you expect? It was a great surprise from my boyfriend and they have many exhibits along with two indoor butterfly gardens, with tons of butterflies and even some cute birds. Staff is friendly, food is okay. Totally recommend it.
Went with my son's 2nd grade class & the 1st grade class for a field trip. Our Adventure Guide Mr. Mike was wonderful with the kids, and adults. He had lots of information & things to learn! Everything was clean, the gift shop was inexpensive, but beautiful. I will definitely come back.
Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The facility had multiple rooms with a large variety of specimens. My husband and I spent hours there, and each had multiple landings on us both! Beautiful and amazing place! A good sized gift shop is available and a small restaurant is on site to grab a quick bite or drink! We can't wait to go back!
Interesting Cockroach Display. Very cool spot to take pictures of butterflies, lizard and frogs. They do a good job of maintenance. The water features are cool to. It's pricey at $16. You can get $1 AAA discount.
Wife loved it. She loves butterflies. Staff seemed attentive but need to figure out a process to make the incoming visitors move faster. I'm sure it happened to be due to it was mothers day. But I'm sure it's not their first mothers day. Other than that. If you like butterflies. Nice place to visit and kill an hour or two.
This place is a great place to take kids that love butterflies and bugs. My daughter had a great time. I think it was a little too pricey since is such a small place. It took about 30min to walk around the place. The food café was OK not too bad. I was pleased that restrooms were kept so clean since other places most of the time don't have clean restrooms. Staff were really friendly and informative.
