It's odd giving this many stars to a DMV. Well the reason for the stars is visits here tend to be quick and rather painless. They also don't down talk you for not knowing what exactly you're supposed to do like I've experienced at the east side DMV. I think they understand that I don't work there so I don't know these things. They've been patient with me at this location and explain things very well.

This is a business I never thought I would write a review for but here I am. This place is really small, like the size of a post office. I went there at a fairly busy time (about 5pm), and first of all, I am so happy that there is a DMV in Madison that is open until 6pm. I am also ecstatic about the service I received. There was a good line in front of me (maybe about 8 other people, which seems like a large volume for the size of this place) and the gentleman at the counter had some of the best customer service skills I've ever witnessed. He would take someone's photo if necessary, give them the form they needed, call up someone who had been waiting with theirs completed, repeat. I was in and out in about 10-15 minutes, whereas when I stopped by the West Side DMV by Hilldale around 3pm, the line was literally out the door just to get a ticket. I am/was very impressed and this will be the DMV that my family and I use going forward.

It took 5 minutes on a Saturday to renew my registration and my boyfriend's license. They were very nice and efficient.

Quick in and out, about 10 minutes, painless. There is minimal staff, so could vary a lot if someone needs extra time or there is a line. The staff says how busy they are varies a lot over the day, so if it is really busy you could just come back later. Of course make sure you have required documents, it is different for regular driver's license and newer "Real ID".

Went for drivers license renewal, was very fast, picture, paperwork, pay done. Found out you need ss card and birth certificate to be able to get a license with a star so you can fly come 2020.

Literally the best experience I've ever had with a DMV. The process was 5 minutes to renewal my license plate and the guy who helped us was fantastic.
