Overly loud, noisy, doors slamming, yelling by the owner to staff. We couldn’t not get a good night sleep after skiing all day. The hotel is lower priced than others and still not worth it. Their website is very deceiving. The owner will probably say something nasty in response to this review. They hide behind their “family friendly” policy to explain the thin walls and the noise about and beyond the typical hotel white noise.

Stayed a night here after a day at Sugarbush Mountain. The Lodging was excellent, the staff was very kind. Gizmo was very nice. The room was clean and the dinner was pretty good. The breakfast came with the over night, which was also pretty good. If I'm lodging near Sugarbush again, Mad River Barn is probably where I'll stay.

Two years ago, I celebrated my birthday at Mad River Barn with my then boyfriend. We were engaged earlier this year, and when debating where we wanted to be married, the only place that made sense was this one; we'd had such a positive experience in this beautiful inn, and the owners Heather and Andrew are warm, kind, and generous with their time and knowledge of the area. The spaces are rustic and elegant all at once, with thoughtful touches in the guest rooms. Our November wedding during "stick season" brought two dozen friends and family to the inn to effectively take it over right before Thanksgiving, and we had an incredible time. The support staff are as friendly and helpful as the owners; our guests were thrilled with their service and experience. I hope to make this an annual visit. Thank you!

Attended a wedding here. The venue is really nice, everything is beautiful and service was great. We stayed down the road as we were only in one night and there was two night minimum.

Went to the pub section for some late night apps and drinks with some friends. Everything was delicious, especially the cheese plate. Table games are a big plus as well and make for a great hangout space.

I love this place, but I am biased since I got married here 15 years ago! I haven't ever stayed here, but we eat here every year now since the new owners took over. I recently met both the owners and they were very nice. They just built a beautiful building for weddings and an outdoor chapel. I would get married here again! In the meantime I will enjoy the very delicious food instead!

This place is amazing great food amazing staff, Jerry the bartender has one of the best personalities. They are the only establishment around with games like air hockey & shuffle board. It's a new building very well kept. They could use some help with there pot holes but that's literally all they could fix. Well done guys.

If I could give more thumbs up, I would. If i could "unlike" Mado P and Green Mountain Steve's reviews I also would. I think they must have gone to a different place because they couldn't be further away from the truth. The staff at Mad River Barn are all amazing, accommodating, kind, fun, entertaining and professional. I planned a party for my sister and large group of 19 girls last weekend and we had an unbelievable, memorable time (and I think the staff enjoyed our free entertainment as well, right?)

The rooms are beautiful, cozy and quiet, the bar is great and the food was delicious. It really felt like "home." The quintessential "homey" feeling you get when you walk into a close family member or friends house.

Vermont, the friendly Green Mountain State that it is, is the PERFECT place for this barn/inn to live. Consider yourself lucky if you ever have the pleasure to stay for a couple nights.

Thank you Heather, Andrew and staff- we will definitely be back!
