We absolutely loved our time there.(5nights 6 days) What started out as a working vacaction since hubby was going to be so far from home turned into a wish we didn't have to leave. A laid back relaxed environment where you can see and hear Gods beauty all around you. We have a special needs daughter who has to be able to sing and swing(they have a porch swing), ride her bike, and be loud at all hours of the day or night. We have NEVER FELT MORE WELCOME OR AT HOME!!! This is a great place for those who love a laid back, back to nature environment. We look forward to our many trips back.

Do not expect to find gold here. We rented a high banker, rented a trammel (each with a load of material), and bought half a dozen buckets to pan over our one week stay. The high banker we were told later (by another guest) wasn't being run properly because we had zero experience and the staff never once checked on us. I guess their half ass instructions were supposed to suffice. We spent another day with the trammel (which ran out of gas and the had to run to town for more) and after the clean out we found a hole in the sluice box I could fit a dime through plus the plastic bin they gave us to clean our gold into had 2 holes in it. The staff is polite but you have to ask every single question and ask for specific details because they do not offer any information. Almost yes and no answers to anything you ask. After five days the gentleman who helped us the most Rick I believe it was did grow on us some and seemed to be an ok guy. The restrooms and showers are absolutely horrible and very very rarely cleaned. Cell phone signals are very rare and this camp ground offer no WiFi internet (its 2017 people) It you want a cheap place to park an rv or camper for a few nights and pan some gold specks from "salted" buckets this place is it. On our last day it did slip that if your really looking to get some gold you have to by a $500 nugget bag

This is an awesome place!! My husband and I moved here 4 years ago and live here full time. There are full hookup, semi-hookup, and primitive sites available for RV's, pop-ups, tents etc. There is also a cabin for rent as well. The river is great for gold and gem prospecting; panning, dredging, or just for some good 'ol fashioned cooling off from the heat. They have high bankers you can rent or bring your own. There are also gold and gem bags/buckets you can buy and pan those out under the classic panning shed! A lot of good folks with good stories can be found here. Also you can enjoy great food, ice cold drinks and ice cream at the Miner's Diner. You can also browse around the gift shop. The Vein Mountain Recreational Miner's Club calls Lucky Strike home base and anyone is invited to join (for a fee) and there is much more area open for prospecting/hiking to club members as well as several club digs throughout the summer. This truly is a fun, great place to relax and enjoy nature! I highly recommend it here to anyone as a great camping get-away; from just a weekend to a week, month, or even longer!!

Great place to take kidsto soft through sand for interesting minerals. Panning for gold is also fun, but time consuming if you do it right.

Great family time hangout kind of place. Shop pricing is very fair. They helped us learn how to pan, more than once, as we are beginners. We'll be back!

My wife and I wanted to pan for gold in a creek, which you can do here. We panned for nearly 2 hours (in the rain) and found only two very small specks of gold. Very disappointed! A guy who was camping said there's a gold trap upstream that catches most of the gold. He recommended buying a bucket of dirt. We are glad we did because the very first pan had several flour gold specks. We panned that bucket of dirt while chatting with other guests and ended up having a good time, but it could have ended with a lot of disappointment had we not been advised to buy a bucket. The cheeseburger and fries were delicious!
