I started using Lucky Dawg for daycare for my 9 month old Golden Retriever and it was the best decision! He gets so excited to go every time! He is full of puppy energy and that makes it difficult to work from home. He thinks I should be playing with him! Daycare has helped to burn that energy and he always comes home happy and tired!
Because you have to leave a star to post a review. A recent family member boarded her dog at Lucky Dawg after extensive time and effort to find a perfect place for her fur baby to be boarded and cared for. She was going out of town for about two weeks and felt this would be the best and safe space for her dog to stay. The reviews were great, it is family owned and that was important to her. The website was professional. The staff appeared caring. When she picked up her dog after returning, he was covered in wounds and his ribs were protruding. She immediately fell to tears and took him to All Creatures Animal Hospital, Emergency vet services. He was dropped off at 163 lbs and was picked up weighing only 133lbs. The emergency vet that performed a check up on her dog confirmed all of his ailments were due to neglect from improper care at the facility he was boarded at and severe emaciation and suggest to report this immediately. I am so saddened that a place with such great reviews could let something so heart wrenching occur. Your pet is your family. Unfortunately, she does not have anyone to watch him local and could not take him with her on her trip. She called the pet resort often to check on him, and they said he was “great” every time. TO TRUST THIS AND THEN COME home only to discover the disgusting neglect and pain and emotional pain he now is enduring, is horrendous and disgusting. This is a complete question of compassion, care, health of the owners and facilitys integrity. I hope this does not go unaddressed internally. I fear if this has happened once, no doubt it’s happened before and/or if not, maybe consider a new member of staff could be allowing this to happen again. I am posting on her behalf for anyone wondering why due to the stress it has caused them. This poor dog once loving, sweet and gentle, has not been the same since pick up. He Is skittish, sulking and his personality has been affected by a PTSD of this negligence that occurred while being boarded at Lucky Dawg Pet Resort. I will post this again if it’s deleted because it is sad to have to share this but it is the truth and should not go unnoticed. Google is the last place to share something like this and it's been shared to the right party as well, but for anyone considering, I would highly do research, go visit and speak to the resort staff directly. Trust your gut. I hope this has never happened before, and I pray it never happens again.
They're excellent with anxious first-time boarders that call too many times a day. We have 6 wild hyenas that had never been socialized that needed a 10 day boarding, and they did a fantastic job. Little Bit, Maggie, Bella, Blondie, Shadow, and Freckles will all be back next vacation!
Used Lucky Dawg for the first time this past week. All the reviews are right. I picked up the dogs and they were clearly not stressed out. The owner was awesome in answering me quickly and posted lots of pictures of the dogs playing. Will be using third services again in the future.
Wonderful staff. Very happy with the facility inside and outside. Perfect place to board your pet. Highly recommend. The owners love the guest pets as if they were their own.
