Went for the Christmas day brunch. Pricey at around 200 for 3 people. Food was hit or miss, some was good, some was barely eatable because of the salt level. Our server was good but failed to give us the "lay of the land" which caused us to miss the outside pasta station, and almost caused my guests to miss the carving stations. The staff was very friendly and the food that was good, was very tasty, even the food that was over salted seemed to have potential.

This resort was absolutely beautiful and the service was excellent. The resort is a short walk from the parks, and a picturesque walk at that. The room was beautiful and the pools were great. We ate at Mama Dellas and I was happily surprised at how delicious the food was.
The only negative was, room service didn’t come one day to service the room but when we called the front desk they immediately offered solutions and even gave us a late checkout. There was one other small issue that the front desk took care of quickly and pleasantly.
Overall, it was a great stay and we can’t wait to come back again!response / report this review -

Great staff! The customer service we have received since checking in has been amazing. The only thing I think needs work are the room. A little upgrade too the bathroom would go a long way to make this hotel 5 star

Loved everything about this place. Just know it is pet friendly. We didn't realize that. A dog in the next room woke us up every morning howling when his family left for the park. That's the only issue we had. Otherwise, location was great. Ferry rides were a breeze. Rooms were very nice and spacious. Housekeeping was excellent. Very friendly staff as well. Food was pretty good.

Very clean, friendly, helpful staff. Beds were really comfortable, and it's such a scenic resort to stay. On grounds restaurants are awesome, we've stayed here before and HAD to come back and we'll be back. There's a food/wine Harbor Nights my wife and I love! You must stay here, you won't regret it!

Beautiful facility and exceptional staff. For the price, rooms were less than what might be expected. Tub and mini fridge were nice additions, but no microwave or room sink. Bathroom fan was broken, and bathroom cleanliness was sub standard. Found half empty cup with cigarette butts in it on patio. Biggest hit for pre-teen kids was the pool. Many activities at pool side, like bingo. Shuttles to Universal Studios were nice, but oddly stopped at 2pm. All in all, very nice experience, but room didn't measure up to other similarly marketed hotels in this price range.

Great Italian themed hotel on the property of Universal Studios. First thing first, the basic perks you get for staying at this property is the benefit of being able to take the water taxi to all universal locations. Less than a 15min water taxi to city walk and both island of adventure and universal studios. On top of that you get access to the park early by an hour. You don't get to pick which park so it depends on the season and how busy things are. Another major benefit you get is free express pass. Your room key can now be used to save a tremendous amount of time at the parks. Since express pass is about $90 a person, this can justify the higher cost of this hotel just in express passes. Regarding the amenities of this hotel, it's clean and is family friendly. The pool even plays movies so you and the kids can relax and enjoy. There are bars and a good pizza place that everyone can enjoy. One recommendation I would give is to try and get a room on the west wing. The west wing is directly infront of the water taxi. So from room to taxi will only take about 5min which is pretty great. Can't go wrong with this hotel, enjoy!

We stayed in a suite with a lounge area between two connecting rooms. It was the best experience we've ever had and we are seasoned resort goers including several Disney and international resorts! The attention to detail is supurb and the quality of the bed is only understood when compared back to back with another supposedly "high end" resort Disney offers. Not a paid promotion either as we paid for the whole experience out of pocket as our (slightly less often then annual) trip. Highly recommend!! Plus the theme parks are fun ;)

The rooms are well-appointed, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Also, the location of the resort on the Universal property is amazing. It truly feels like you're in another world (or country, I suppose). The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. You can choose to experience the fun of the Universal parks and CityWalk or relax on the resort to refresh. Plus, the free unlimited express pass to the parks makes the stay even better. I always stay here when I vacation at the parks. Well worth the cost.

Everyone at Portofino was So nice, kind, and accommodating. Our room, the hotel, and everything surrounding it all is beautiful. I also Love the fact they happily accept animals! So wonderful! My husband and I would/will recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. The restaurants were Really good with dietary restrictions which is much much appreciated. Thank you for being kind and accepting to animals. With a hurricane on the way you've made sure All are safe. We were so comfortable, an all round great experience in amazing surroundings

We don't normally stay at this high quality of a hotel. We have felt welcomed from. The start and have enjoyed the fast pass tickets that come with staying here. The water taxi ride is the best transportation from theme park to hotel I've ever tried--wait time is just a few minutes and trip is pretty fast). Check-in and out is very easy. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. We enjoyed the beach pool and hot tub. Would definitely come back.

We visited the Portofino Bay Hotel to visit the Mandara Spa. We had an absolutely wonderful time and received great treatment. The reception area was clean and inviting. The lounge was very comfortable. Emily was very friendly and made it a very comfortable experience. Well worth it for a wonderfully relaxing evening.

Quite possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The view is beautiful, the scenery is charming, and the amenities are amazing. If you are staying to enjoy the park, getting to the park by water taxi is a treat. The staff are very helpful, and the restaurants on site are delicious, with each having their own style and ambiance. Will definitely stay again and again, and recommend to anyone coming to Orlando!

We celebrated our anniversary at the Mama Della restaurant. The entertainment is nice, a singer will drop by your table and take a request. My wife enjoyed the gnocchi, which are made fresh daily. I enjoyed the lasagna, which was quite meaty. For dessert, we enjoyed a molten chocolate cake. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.

Excellent!. The room was clean, new and exactly what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. The hotel service was impeccable and the food at the on-site restaurants was exceptional. The only hiccup I hope the Hotel changes is that the speed of the check-in process is slow. . . primarily because the staff is friendly and answers questions of the guests checking in - I would recommend that the hotel bring the concierges (who are sitting alone 10 feet away in their own office) to the front desk to take over when the Q&A begins so that the long line of guests (many families with children) checking in and anxious to begin their vacation can move faster. We will definitely stay again.
