Beautiful christmas light show they have. Thank you so much for brightening up my children's night with that
My mother received wonderful care from the medical staff. Dealing with the business office was another matter entirely. Rude and irresponsible. They did not respond to my letter of concern. I would advise anyone who has family in this facility to be very aware of the lack of security for your valuables.
Taking good care of me brother
RN Maricruz is so caring, excellent care for our grandfather. Staff is really nice and is a good healthy environment
My husband, age 63, found himself going to rehab for 20 days after heart surgery complications. I chose Life Care only based on reviews and hoped I chose well for him. We were not disappointed! It was during the off-season (summer) so it wasn't over populated but busy nonetheless. Every question, every concern, every request for change was met with genuine listening and real results. The staff is very upbeat, compassionate and doing their job with integrity. I could not say better things about them. Nursing Home/Rehab Centers are never a place anyone wants to end up but this has been a very positive experience in so many ways. Even the food was decent! I was told by one of the nurses that it gets really crazy in the winter "Snowbird" season and I can see how that could result in problems but that needs to be held in perspective. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Worst place in town. They dont care about the elderly. If they get hurt No one will treat there wound or give antibiotics. My grandma was in there an staff didn't want to help her use the restroom, pluz she has diabetes and they never checked her blood sugar levels in 2 months. They dont care if they eat. When she would get hurt nobody knew what happened. She got hurt and had a wound and they didn't treat it for over a month until it got a really bad infection and because of that infected wound my grandma is fight for her life. If you love an care about your family member please DON'T TAKE THEM TO THIS PLACE!!
My father in law was placed in this rehab for one more week of therapy after a stroke. Which ended up being 4 weeks. They told him every week that he would get out next week. He didn't progress much while he was there even though he did all the exercises they gave him to do . He worked really hard so he could go home. They showed him how to walk but they wouldn't teach him how to get out of bed and wouldn't let him use the walker. He continued to get more depressed because they wouldn't let him go home after telling him every week he could go home NEXT WEEK! He cried all the time that he wanted to go home. My family wanted to take him home anyways and hire someone to care for him but they threatened them that they would not file his ACCHS and wouldn't give him his prescriptions or help him get AZ. Long Term Care or Home Health Care if he left. My opinion is that this is blackmail!!! So after several weeks of this abuse my husband went to talk to the Social Services worker named Tanya to see what was going on and she told him that my father in law would not get his prescriptions if we took him out. Nor would she disclose the names of the medicine if we checked him out and would not file ACCHS for him. This has to be illegal as the medical records don't belong to them they belong to my father in law. Our family took him out against their advice. He looked so bad the last few days he was there we were afraid he would die of sorrow. He said if we didn't take him home he would get himself home. My family removed him and he signed himself out that day. They took him to his primary care physician that day to get his medicine and they called for his records from Life Care Center of Yuma and they sent an illegible copy of the records. The social worker named Tanya told my husband she would make sure he didn't get even the names of the medicine if he took him out whenever he said "just give me the names of his medicine" after she refused to give him the records. The Primary Care Doctor said they had never seen such a terrible copy when it was sent over. It took some doing but they finally got the records from somewhere and got his medicine. At home in one day my father in law could get himself out of bed as my husband showed him how and was walking with the walker outside where he loves to be. He got happy and started to progress remarkably since he left this rehab. I do not suggest anyone go here. Blackmail and threats from the social worker is not a good situation to be in. The people are not friendly at all!
I agree with the lady, my mother too was in this facility. And received horrible treatment. Even though she was physically incapacitated for a short amount of time, she was still of sound mind and was able to speak of what was said to her and done to her. I wanted to remove my mom against medical advice. But my family against it. She's home, she's happy, and she said the only way she made it through that, was through prayer.
Absolutely horrible!!!
Everytime I hear of this place I want to vomit from the anger and frustration of never having closure. my mother was a patient for 2-3 days and was physically abused. After deciding through Compassus of Yuma to admit my mom or a few days to get much needed rest, we returned a couple of days after my mother informed me that she was physically abused. Pictures were taken, reports were made and absolutely no one was found guilty or punished for this crime. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!!!!
It works with very limited resources and incompetent staff that also lack COMPASSION!!!
I wish I could share the bruises they left on my mother who passed away shortly after that incident. Awful way to spend your last days.
