About to move from Arkansas and had the pork loaded potato and it was fantastic. Just the right amount of butter, sour cream, cheese, and meat! Will definitely be back.

I love their rib plates. The #3 is what my hubby and I get and its just right for us and we have left overs! Its not expensive either

Right off of Interstate 65 at exit 351, (Athens/Highway 72), this is a great place to get a pork BBQ sandwich or some Brunswick stew(in season). They have some of the best sweet tea in town! Lots of great menu choices for dining in or taking out. Just don't ask for Hush Puppies. They don't have a fryer and they don't do hush pups. :-( This is truly a great stop for a quick lunch. Traveler and local alike enjoy this restaurant. Don't forget to go inside and check out the decor. Hundreds of fishing lures! Really cool place to eat.

This is absolutely the best place to come sit down and eat with your family. My entire family and I traveled all the way from Florida to Alabama due to hurricane Irma. The minute we entered Lawlers Barbecue we were warmly welcomed by the amazing staff, they made us feel like family. Once we ordered our food it literally came out in four minutes and my god I never seen food that looked so good!!! Nevertheless, the food was AMAZING I had the loaded turkey potato and I was beyond satisfied!!! What really topped everything off was the fellow residents of Athens, Alabama over heard that my family and I were from Florida and genuinely blessed my family with cash and prayers. Everyone at Lawlers Barbecue on 9/11/2017 @ 4:16 p.m are amazing people, with amazing hearts and BOMB food! Thanks for showing us Alabama ❤️

I love this place with one exception - no fries. I know that is common in BBQ places, but I want fries (not chips) with my pork sandwich.
but seriously, the interior is a long shot from fancy, but it is clean. It is a "fisherman" themed place, so lots of trophy fish on the wall. There are also antique lures and gear on display. Seems out of place for a BBQ restaurant, but you don't go to a place like this for the decor, you go for the stuffed potato.
The only real problem with this place is the fact that orders are given and filled at the one and only drive through window, so the drive through is a bit slow - especially at lunch.
A must if you are an out of town traveler looking for something outside of the usual fast food.response / report this review -

We had phenomenal food with incredibly kind service from the nicest people! BBQ pork plate with green beans and mac & cheese - it was all delicious. When green beans are memorably good, that's good food. The ribs were the best we have ever had. The best. Thank you for a great meal and even nicer service. We are from out of town, but we will be back!

The food at this place is fantastic! The stuffers are massive baked potatoes loaded with toppings. The sampler platter is a great bet because you get a little of everything. You honestly chat go wrong with anything. The staff is also wonderful and so kind. It's a real good group of folks. I do highly recommend this restaurant.

First time here. Good food, friendly staff, clean. Obviously well-run. I had the combo plate with BBQ pork & beef, with vinegar coleslaw & baked BBQ beans. It was great. And I'm from Memphis, so I know my BBQ. Will come back next time I'm passing through.

Good store, and with the deals they offer it's a good value too. Go on Tuesdays for the best price on loaded stuffed baked potatoes.

The ladies at the counter where outstanding and so was the ribs and bean. I was very disappointed that the potatoe salad was not house made neither was the dessert. I thought being a small local place that it would be more fresh and made there but it's not. But if you like Sarah Lee's pies it's the place to go.
