Recently went here to buy dog food and noticed a horrid smell. This could be due to the age of the building and poor ventilation. I would highly recommend to Sandra Grant to install proper air ventilation, and NOT board animals in her cramped retail space.
If your looking for someone to correct you on everything, than this is a perfect vet for you!

Do not take your pets here if you actually care about them. Especially your exotics, they are advertised as a dog and cat vet but Dr. Grant decided to specifically tell me she treats exotic animals which seemed odd to begin with but I was stupid enough to actually take my bird in for a simple nail and beak trim. Not only did she butcher my conure's beak, making it blunt. She told me that it was ILLEGAL to remove leg bands from birds unless they have received an injury from it, which is an absolute joke. She has a tendency to talk down to anyone who brings their pets in, as if they are far inferior. I'm also pretty sure she doesn't know how to recognize tumors. Take your cats and dogs to a better vet. And definitely take your exotic pets(birds, rabbits, ferrets) to an ACTUAL exotic vet. I learned my lesson the hard way on multiple occassions.

EDIT: I saw that I received a response from the "owner" and I figured I would respond as well so that anyone reading the reviews and responses does not get mislead. It is perfectly legal to get your bird's leg band removed, ask a REAL exotic vet. Call multiple exotic vets if you still aren't sure. The only vet that will tell you otherwise is Dr. Grant which proves my point. The leg bands mean absolutely nothing to a bird owner, it is ONLY for the breeders to prove they did not smuggle them in. The leg bands are a danger to pet birds because they can get caught and cause severe injuries or even death. Please do not listen to this vet, as mentioned they are really condescending and they like to act as if they know everything which is a shame because if you end up listening to them, you are only putting your pet's life at risk, there is no consequence for the vet.

I absolutely love Dr. Grant and the entire staff!! We have been taking our pets there 22 years. Excellent care from the everyday basics to emergency care. We had a put viper bite Bayley boy in the face. My husband called and rushed him in they were ready to treat the minute he arrived thankfully everything was taken care of and he recovered. Now that he is older he has developed diabetes and they have been there for us again we have quite a few visits to keep it in check. Lake wheeler staff is always happy to see is. Knows who we are and calls to check in when his sugar goes high. Thanks to Tiffany, Ashley and everyone else. We love you guys.

We have been going to Dr. Grant for about 2 years. Recently, we've been going much more frequently as we just got a puppy in addition to our older dog. They take such great care of our pups during their visits and whenever we board them there! Anytime we call with a question, the staff is quick to help out! We are so thankful to have such a great vet & staff. Highly Recommend!

This is an amazing vet. They know me and my dog right when we walk in without even asking my name. They are always very friendly and treat my animals as if they were their own. They make trips to the vet very enjoyable for my and my pup.

Dr Grant has been wonderful. She truly loves the animals she cares for and will do what ever she possibly can to help. I have had bad experiences with other clinics in the past but Dr Grant and her staff has shown that there are doctors who actually care about their patients. I highly recommend her and her staff.

We used to like this vet. After our experience today, we are not going back. We went in to get out dogs nails trimmed and I asked to see if they could do the nail file so that his nails are not so rough when we finish. I also said SEVERAL times that if he does not like it, to stop and stick with the regular trim. They did not listen and did the nail file. I heard him crying and screaming for about 15 min. When I got him back, the vet came and started reprimanding me about filing his nails. Saying we have to put him under any other time and that I should not have them file the nails. She was extremely rude. She then said "I'll bring the file to you and put it on your finger so you know what it feels like." I did NOT know that it would hurt him so bad. Again, I also said that if he did not take well to it, please DO NOT do it. We will be taking our healthy miniature dachshund to another vet for now on. I do not need someone judging me and telling me that I am a bad dog parent. It is their job to make sure they take care of my dog when I bring them. I am very upset and disappointed.

HUGE HEARTS with KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
Dr. Grant and staff love and respect their patients and their patients owners. They appreciate you and truly love your animals. The evidence is in the follow up call. Not many places do this but they do!!
I had to say goodbye to my best friend in August. She was sick for months so we had weekly visits. In these visits not only did they care for my pet to make her as comfortable as possible but they helped me cope with the reality of what was to come. Life without her. My sweet Veda passed peacefully in my arms surrounded by Dr. Grant and her staff who she had known and loved for 10+ years. It wasn't just my loss that day, it was theirs too. Dr. Grant called me weekly after Veda's passing with love and support and sometimes silly messages just to let me know I was in her thoughts. It would be impossible to ever feel taken advantage of when this level of care is given. It is worth everything!!
