Beautiful lake. Great for fishing or just chilling. Pretty much nobody around. Right side of the forest is less thick and is fun to trek though.

Go to the left of the boat ramp. Walk down the long, perfectly mowed/manicured lawn toward the lake. (*Do not miss the little cut outs in the right: perfect for shade fishing!). You will find a tiny beach and gazebo at the end! The water is clear up to your knees, and tons of fun for the kids: baby bluegill swilling EVERYWHERE! For the more adventurous: take a trec down one of the wooded paths to the left. You will come out to a super clearingbe advised that cottonmouth snakes, and a random baby Gator might be lurking in this area. The park is filled with open grassy areas- spotted with shade trees, picnic tables & park BBQ grills!!!

Talk about a gem! You'll find more here than a boat ramp to a quiet lake with great fishing. The park offers an abundance of space for family gatherings complete with picnic tables and grill. On top of that, you will find great hiking with a Longleaf Ecology and Forestry Society (LEAFS) at the south end, and the Alto Park Preserve's Treefrog Trail to the north. There's no way you can see and do it all in a day here, and yet I found this place mostly secluded. This is a no-miss in Waldo, Florida!
