my absolute favorite restaurant in Michigan! The Atmosphere is Perfect!
The Food is beyond excellent
Great staff, better food, amazing bartenders slinging both southern and unique cocktails.
If you like Cajun, this is the place to go. I had the red beans and rice. Big serving and spicy with plenty to have for lunch the next day. We were there early so seating was easy, but the place filled quickly. If you like spucy, this is the place for you!
Awesome food and people
Good food, though not nearly as spicy and interesting as cajun in Louisiana. Great atmosphere. Great waitstaff.
Some of the best food in Marquette! Very generous portions. I've not yet had something I don't like. Great beer selection, as well!
Seriously one of the best food & drink experiences I've ever had. I don't want to go into detail cause I'll be here for 5+ minutes writing this review. Just go there, trust me. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, just tell them what you like and you'll walk out happy.
Cajun food in the UP? How can you resist? The gumbo is great. The restaurant is pretty cozy and there's live music.
We were traveling through the UP & 'discovered' this place on Trip Advisor where the reviews were good. After an excellent meal of Cajun flavored cooking we were impressed. A taste of Louisiana this far north was appreciated, a wonderful surprise. Highly recommend.
Ate Thursday night. Had live music. Music was great and not too loud. Food was awesome. Tried Jambalaya, Shrimp Creole, crayfish, and catfish. All were 5 star.
Good food, but they charge you for a tiny side of ranch or any dressing which is kind of ridiculous. Also weird that you can only get oysters after 4 PM, and only a bartender can shuck them. They always seem to be out of oysters.
Love this place. The food is awesome! Always fresh, and they only use Gulf shrimp, none of that chemical grown shrimp.
This place serves really great food at a decent price. They have the monopoly on Cajun creole food in the area and they do it well. Unfortunately the food is about the only good thing here. The waitstaff was okay but I found the house managers to be a bit rude. We even got a stare-down by a kitchen staff member every time he walked out of the kitchen area; really weird. The dining room is very dark and can be very loud when they're busy (usually Friday & Saturday nights). I would definitely recommend the food here, but get it to go.
Wow, the food here is awesome! Definitely our favorite place is town. The atmosphere is a little dark, but cozy and very authentic. They have great New Orleans decor. Live music too. Our waitress (shout out to Tanya) was friendly and knowledgeable!
As someone who's been to the big easy, I feel confident in saying that their gumbo is probably one of the best you'll find this far north. We got a half pound of their jumbo shrimp and boy, were they excellent. They were big, tasted fresh and cooked in an awesome sauce. We liked their fried chicken - moist with some crunch, everything it should be. Their shrimp and grits were stellar too. Great flavors in the creole sauce. Grits had a good texture. Only knock would be that these shrimp weren't as good as the others. Nice sized portions. The chefs also put together a nice presentation of the dish, which is a nice touch. Definitely absolutely will be back when in the area, we really enjoyed this place.
