If you want a salesman who will provide you with a courteous, professional, and honest experience ask for CHERILYN WATKINS (she goes by Cher)! I was connected with Cher and the process could not have been simpler. I told her what I wanted in the vehicle, she provided me with pricing, and then after I agreed on the price she took care of the rest and sourced the vehicle to my specifications. A few phone calls and texts back and forth is all it took to finalize the details and I did not go into the dealership until I was ready to sign the papers. It meant a lot to me that Cher understood the value of both our time and she answered all my questions promptly. Rather than having to go through the constant back and forth on price haggling car salesman are notorious for, Cher put her best foot forward at initial contact. Overall it was a very pleasurable experience and I’m very happy with the outcome. I will be doing business with Cher anytime I need a car as I know she can get stuff done. Make sure you ask for Cher, she will take care of you!
The worst dealer experience I ever had, I called the dealer to drop off a lease car, was told to come before 6, made it 5:30, I was told I have to return in half an hour, I came back at 6, I was told the manager is gone for the day, and will be back at 10 am the next day, I went back at that time, I found out, after dealing with multiple people, that the manager was one of the two people who were talking to me the previous day, they made my experience as difficult as they could, for no reason of what so ever, upset, I wen to Suburban Chevrolet, where I received an excellent service, felt welcome, and was offered a great deal. Please avoid LaFontaine Buick GMC for the good of all us.
Will never take my vehicle here again. I took my Encore in for a routine oil change, at which point they suggested I clean my fuel injection system as well. $350 and 2 hours later, I get in my car and get on the highway, to realize that my check engine soon light is on, and my cruise control will not work. I return to the service center, which, 5 minutes after I left was closed up. After driving a loaner home, I was informed the next day that the tech did not drive my car long enough to burn out the cleaner, and that was why the service engine light was on. So basically they thought it was ok to return a vehicle without the service fully completed.
Fast forward a couple months, I took my vehicle to be serviced at a different location, where they, YET AGAIN, recommended I have the fuel injection treatment completed. I informed them Ihad just had it done, and they told me if that was so, whoever did it did not clean out the throttle whatsoever.
So now, not only did they return it to me uncompleted, but actually never did part of the process to begin with!! I sent e-mails to BOTH service lane managers, neither of whom could be bothered to respond/comment on the absolutely appalling level of service (or lack thereof) that was completed on my vehicle.
Will never go here again, and I will warn every person I know to stay away and take their business elsewhere.
GREAT EXPERIENCE! It was my first time dealing with getting a new car. They took the time to carefully walk me through everything and make sure I understood what everything was for. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and my car leasing experience. Will definitely be sticking with LaFontaine for my future car needs!
Great work by Paul V and Lauren S--made sure everything was as seamless as possible! My wife is now enjoying her new Terrain, delivered to our front door! Truly an EXCEPTIONAL experience👍👍
Tony took such great care of us from beginning to end. I got the Terrain lease I wanted at the lowest price (I looked around) with top-notch customer service all the way. LaFontaine has a new loyal customer thanks to Tony and the entire team at LaFontaine.
The service center here is shady/dishonest. They charged me way more when I brought the vehicle in for an oil change and vehicle inspection then they did my husband. They then double charged me for the same job, claiming that they had to plug the vehicle into the computer two different times so they have to charge for each time. They then called me and asked me if I wanted a rusty part removed. I told them "no, please don't remove it". When I arrived to pick up my truck they informed me that they removed the rusty part anyways, "free of charge" but never explained what part it was and never gave me the rusty part like most repair shops do. Our truck had been running amazing and we had never had any non-cosmetic issues with it prior to bringing it into their shop. Shortly after bringing it in for an oil change and them removing a part I asked them not to, our truck had a complete failure! When I was driving it on the highway it began to make a rattle noise then shut down and the power steering went out. When OnStar would only tow it to a dealership we gave them this dealership's address. We had the dealership look into why it broke down on me. They charged us $125 to look the vehicle over and take an oil sample. They then called us and informed us that we would need a whole new engine for around $8,000-$9,000. I immediately had a different repair shop come and tow it away from the dealership. After having five other mechanics look it over they determined that this shouldn't have happened out of the blue like this and it doesn't need a whole new engine.
Last year purchased a brand new 2016 Yukon. $65,000 truck. They were very happy to have my business and seemed great and showed me there wonderful maintenance facility. One year later it's now time I need a repair as the air conditioning fan is going out at 36,000 Mi. When I call they tell me they have no loaner cars and I live too far away they won't give me a ride. Funny seems like it wasn't such a problem when I was buying the truck but it seems like after the sale service here is very poor. The follow-up call by a manager that I asked for was prompt. After my complaints, he did offer to make an exception this time to come get me. Apparently that's what I'll have to be, an exception every time after the purchase of a $65,000 truck. Begging for a ride. I don't want to be a thorn in their side so I'll take my business elsewhere. Given the stern and Unapologetic tone of the manager it's obvious I went to the wrong place. This will be the last place I ever go to do business again.
It was great dealing with LaFontaine! Buick Encore is my first car after coming to US. So despite of having less knowledge of processes and procedures here, I did not face any problem at all.
Lance & Dan both were fast & great at their jobs and did everything they could do to deliver me my first car at the earliest. Thanks a ton!
LaFontaine staff were professional and very accommodating. The work was done on time and reasonably priced. I'll keep coming back, for sure.
I love the service team at LaFontaine!! Justyn is the best and never makes me feel pressured into additional services for my vehicle unless its something that I actually need and even then he always leaves the decision up to me. It is rare to find a dealership with a service department like this 10/10 !!!
I attended UM and have lived in Ann Arbor for many years now. I do not recommend this place at all. It is places like this that give car dealerships a horrible reputation for ripping off customers. Many of the reviews on here are written by employees, just check the Yelp reviews. There is a huge discrepancy.
After hearing my friend's experience, I strongly suggest avoiding this place at all costs. The service employee TJ will ask you to get services that are totally not needed for your vehicle. Save yourself the stress and the money by avoiding this place that cannot be trusted at all. Pick a dealer that will conduct business in an ethical and honest manner rather than solely based on profit at the expense of customers. I have also heard stories that they will charge for a tire rotation and not do one. This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable. I am frankly disgusted.
These guys all know my name and all my contacts were pleasant and professional. Makes me feel special. I get a car wash voucher and that really perks me up.
