Great rates and it gets the job done when you're looking to enjoy a week filled of snowboarding. Can't beat the convenience since Keystone is about 8 miles away for only a fraction of the price Pet friendly, non-smoking, and updated air conditioning/heating. We'll definitely be back!
The bathroom was in terrible repair, the pool was disgusting, poorly kept. The breakfast wasn't good and the space provided was too small. The desk clerk engaged in a loud, lengthy, public argument with another guest instead of resolving the issue quickly using a supervisor if necessary.
We had a very nice experience here. The lobby was beautiful with its beams and massive fireplace. The check in staff was very friendly, informative, and quick.
The room was clean and spacious, if a little dated. The bathroom was small, but perfectly workable. One small quibble is that the laminate flooring in the bathroom area was pretty badly buckled. It didn’t negatively affect us in any way, but it was a little thing that we noticed.
Our room was on the third floor which had a nice, large seating area near the elevators. There was also a small fitness room with treadmills, weights, medicine balls, and other exercise equipment on our floor. Other amenities that we enjoyed were the indoor pool and large accompanying hot tub. They even had a beautiful view of the mountains!
I have to admit that the free breakfast was disappointing. There was very little selection. Waffles were the only real hot choice. I found it odd and a little gross that they had unrefrigerated milk out in plastic beverage dispensers. It made me question the cleanliness of the whole breakfast spread.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay, especially for the great price. The hotel could use a little polish here and there, but, if you aren’t too stingy, you can have a good time here.
We love the staff at the La Quinta. The location is amaze balls, it's a great starting off point when hitting the 5 Vail Resorts on my pass. We get and early start from the hotel and follow the snow report. We love the huge hot tub and the rates are always great!
This hotel was not originally a LaQuinta. It has several above average architectural features. There is a large outdoor patio with wonderful views of the mountain. A special feature is the large gas fireplace. We had a King room with a sofa and the room was laid out well. The bathroom was tiny but adequate; I'd rather have the extra room in the living space. We would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic stay! My fiance and I were checked in promptly upon arrival. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive. I was a little apprehensive about staying here because of some negative reviews I have read, but I was unexpectedly surprised! We had a king deluxe room, and our room was very large and the views were outstanding. The pool and hot tub area were perfect, and the outdoor patio connected to the pool was a huge surprise! Fantastic views, continental breakfast, reasonable nightly rates, safe location, and comfortable beds. What more can you ask for? 5/5!
It was a secure place with a decent bed, close to a wedding I was attending. That's about all I can really say.
Bed was huge, comfy, and clean.
Toilet barely flushed. Shower drain cover was missing, shower plug had to be forced into place and only gave a weak stream of water. Shower curtain rod was broken and had obviously been that way for some time.
Staff was nice, Old Chicago in the same building was convenient for late-night drinks.
We had a blast here. The breakfast room is huge but it's only Continental. The patio has so much room. Eric went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our night. The pool and spa we're nice. Every staff member was delightful (besides the night shift that came in, he was kind of a party pooper about the pool around closing time). Other than that PERFECT!
The hotel was in a great location with wonderful views of the mountains. The rooms looked like they were in the process of maybe being updated (missing outlet covers and some small holes in the walllike where a picture would have been). The door was a little sticky and needed to be slammed to be closed. Other than those small details, it was a quiet room and we had a good night's sleep.
Hotel was great for the money. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean beds were great. Excellent value.
we had a great time at the inn. the nice young man at the check-in desk named Eric was a true pleasure to deal with. he helped us get settled and answered all our questions. the room was clean and so was the pool and Jacuzzi. would use again when in the area. ty
We stayed here for one night while on a road trip. The price was very reasonable and the stay was very quiet and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good except the waffle mix was too thin so the waffles turned out to be crispy like a cracker. But there were other options so it was okay. Overall a good stay for the price.
On March 28, 2017 my wife and I were driving from Breckenridge to Denver Colo. Earlier that day it had started to snow and as the day went on the snow came down harder and harder. When we got to Silverthorne, the highway was closed due to the snow so we decided to stay the night rather than risk driving in the poor conditions. Having stayed at many La Quinta's in the past, we pulled in to the one in Silverthorne.
Upon going to the front desk I was pleased to find that there were still rooms at a reasonable rate. We checked in and dropped our bags in the room before heading out for dinner at an adjacent restaurant.
When we returned there was a gathering in the lobby for a ski event being held that week. We thought nothing of it until we got in our room on the second floor which is open to the lobby. The noise from the gathering could be heard in our room, but as we were staying up to watch TV we decided to give it some time for the gathering to die down.
Around 9:30 the gathering was still going strong and getting louder. I went to the lobby and spoke to the front desk clerk. An offer was made to move us, but we had already unpacked and did not want to have to repack or suitcases and move to another room. That would have been an inconvenience to us. I told him I would give it until 11:00 p.m. or so and see how it was then.
As the evening got later, the group changed. A smaller -- but, much louder -- group took up residence in the lobby. To add to the mix, they were drinking quite a bit. They got louder and louder until I went downstairs again to see if the front desk could get them to quiet down.
The desk clerk had changed and was now a young woman. She apologized for the noise and informed me that they were the VIP guests of the owner. When I asked who the owner was, she pointed out one of the partiers.
I poilitely stopped the man she identified and asked if he was the franchise owner. He denied that he was and told me he did not know who the owner was. But, he did tell me he would make note to provide me a 50% discount. This begs several questions: If the gentleman I spoke with was not an owner, I wonder who he is and why the front desk clerk told me he was. It was also apparent that the person -- whoever he is -- has been a problem in the past as related to me by the employee. Also, how would he have the ability to issue a 50% discount if he was not in a position of authority?
To add to the mystery, the next morning when I was checking out, the same clerk that was there the previous evening was there along with another woman. She again expressed her apologies and the other clerk agreed that they mystery man was an issue for everyone. The clerk told me she was zeroing out my charges for night for the trouble. Yet, my credit card statement still shows a charge.
The final straw in this sage took place today. More than a week after the fact, I received an email from the hotel's General Manager telling me they offered to move me and gave me a 50% discount and that the man I spoke to was not the owner. Seems to me there may be a cover up going on here.
I do not like to tell other how to run their business, but it seems that if this person is in a position of authority, he should be strongly advised to be aware of other guest's when entertaining his friends in the lobby. Another possible solution to the noise issue is to post signs informing those in the lobby of quiet hours and giving front desk personnel the authority to enforce that policy. If that is not a viable solution, simply do not assign the rooms overlooking the lobby on nights when there is likely to be a gathering in the lobby, planned or unplanned.
Bottom line: Your experience may vary, but do not expect a lot of sympathy from the management of this hotel. The employees however, were very polite and I actually felt a bit sorry for them for their long suffering. And for the love of Pete, do not let them put you in room 227!
I would rate it no stars, if it would let me. The front desk person was rude. Called La Quinta reservations and the person said she couldn't do anything with the reservation since it was through a third party (hotels.com). All, this due to a request a month ago for an extra roller bed (which were in the special request notes and we're offered on the site when booking). I would have cancelled if I was told this earlier. This is the first time I have had a bad experience a booking from hotels.com. I'm told that it's the hotel that can refund even they said they can't. Hotels.com did try to fix by providing me a credit. At this point I wouldn't recommend La Quinta. We'll see if they rectify this bad customer experience.
