Food is usually pretty good, but last 2 times the overall experience is way below average. Service is extremely, even painfully slow on weekends. Some staff are quite arrogant and not very welcoming. On December 17th one toilet got broken and smell was awful when they constantly opened and closed doors. Need to mention we didn't get any apologies for ruined breakfast. I used to recommend this place, but not anymore. Bottom line: avoid this place, does not worth the price at all.

Great good. The spicy shrimp delightful. The species were exactly correct: not overpowering the taste. Cornmeal cakes complemented the shrimp wonderfully. The trout almondien was perfect with a nice, generous serving of almonds.

The menu is unique. They have specials every morning. Crossaints are to die for! Decoration places you in one of those old time movies that we love. If you order tea, you will get it in one of their special tea pots.

We brought our neighbors for their first visit and, "oh my goodness!" was uttered more than once. From the blackberry latte, to the chorizo skillet, to the berry French toast - everything was devoured! The atmosphere was designed for conversation, ambient noise was controlled, and the decor is charming. And the prices are reasonable for the fact that it's real, Whole Foods! Jamie provided amazing service, and we're definitely coming back!

I've been going to La Brioche for about 2.5 years on and off now. The pastries and baked goods have always been excellent, and you can get them take-away if you'd prefer to not eat at the restaurant itself. I'm a fan of their enormous eclairs, which I'll slice into quarters and eat over several days.

Recently it seems like management has changed over, and the dinner dishes certainly have been revamped for the better. On my most recent visit I had southern fried quail with barley, gravy and collard greens, which the chef let me know was new to the menu. While I've never been down "South" to confirm its authenticity, the dish itself was very good and plated beautifully. The barley was very fluffy, almost like puffed rice in size, and accompanied the gravy well. The fried fowl was flavorful, and a nice counter-point to the sharp greens. The entire entree was light for what should have been a heavy dish, and I hope it stays on the menu.

La Brioche has plenty of regulars, and if you're in the area, it won't hurt to give it a try. If the weather is nice, try the outside seating -- the side of the building has a lovely trellis with vines and a nice garden to make the experience all that more enjoyable.

I liked the place before, and I like it even more now.

We went here to get breakfast one morning after not having been in quite awhile. The hostess seated us and we began milling over the menu and talking, while using our phones. After about 10 minutes we both looked down and saw that they ask for "no phone use" in the restaurant, so we both put our phones down. We then noticed they also say they filter all of the "toxins" out of water, including fluoride. Fluoride in small amounts (like what the putting water) is good for your teeth. But still, we waited. By minute 15 we had yet to have someone approach us, even just to give us water. We looked around and the staff seemed to be just staring at us. It was not a busy morning, and we saw them serving other people, so obviously it was something with us. I'm all for giving places time to collect and actually get over to my table, but after 15 minutes without someone even bringing us water we decided to leave.

The decor is elegant in an old-fashioned, slightly-worn-but-comfy sort of way, the prices are reasonable, and the brunch menu is fantastic. Live piano on weekend mornings, too!

Very good cafe and brunch spot. Up there as my second favorite brunch spot in the city. Gets busy though. Avoid the rush if possible.

Worse food ever they cannot make a grilled cheese. One member asked for food without Onions and they got it wrong twice. French toast was raw. We had to get our own sweetener because the waiter forgot even after asking twice.
