Best place in Madison to see live theatre and dance. Reasonably priced tickets and occasional free shows. Some shows offer student discounts. Most seats are amazing.

Attended the Nutcracker ballet at the beautiful Overture Center. Comfortable spacious seating. Family friendly venue.

This is an excellent venue. We have seen musicals, plays, and operas here. While this theater still strikes me as too large for the area it serves, it is really well designed and we have enjoyed every show we have seen.

Madison has a better-than-big-city arts facility. This is it. Tony Bennett called Overture Hall the finest modern facility he had ever sung within.

A beautiful building which hosts international, national, and local artists, musicians, plays, musicals and more. Overture is a venue you'd typically find in a city ten times the size if Madison. It was funded by a historic gift of philanthropy, and we're fortunate to have it.

Show was enjoyable. Speaker audio volume too quiet to hear from upper balcony.

Beautiful facility. Tickets are so expensive though. That's who they're catering to, is people with $80 per seat to toss out every month or so. Still Please check on the content of the show if you're buying a ticket, before you buy tickets for kids twelve and under though! I mean, Book of Mormon is clearly not appropriate for a ten-year-old, right? But we also saw Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella there too. And people brought six year, in their Disney Cinderella costumes. This is not Disney's Cinderella. Scarier at places, and most definitely some scenes you probably don't wish to explain to your six-year-old, after the fact, unexpectedly.
On the other hand, there are many many kid-friendly and family-friendly activities every week too. Some are free, with Kids in the Rotunda, for example. A good place to watch for events at, if you live within an hour.

The Overture Center offers a huge array of entertainment, from the Symphony to The Book of Mormon. There's really not a bad seat in the house, though it's really lovely to see a show from the orchestra section. The Christmas concert has become an annual tradition, and we see as many shows as we can fit into our schedule. We really, truly and absolutely love the Overture Center.

Always a pleasure! We saw Steve Martin and Martin Short perform here on March 13. What a fantastic sold out show! Once in a lifetime opportunity. The Overture really did an amazing job on the sound and the video production. The guest service members were very helpful and courteous.

Beautiful and spacious. I attended the Phantom of the Opera in January '17. The theatre had very elegant designs along the walls that helped the flow of how the seats were arranged. The architect put a lot of thought behind designing that play hall.

Overture does an excellent job planing their seasons. We've been attending plays/musicals/concerts/etc for several years and have never been disappointed. Seats are comfortable & easily accessible. I don't believe there is a bad seat in the house.

Overture is always a treat, but yesterday's performance of "Phantom" was my first play in the Capitol Theater. The cast was terrific and the orchestration excellent, but I was most impressed by the sets. The "turret" system and expert lighting made the performance truly first rate. Bravo!
