Called and made an appointment.
Told them I had dip powder nails and that what I wanted again. They said ok, I go for my appointment to be told they don’t do that but can do gel powder nails I say ok. He burned my fingers with his grinder and then told me it was my fault. When I complained about the over all service and lack of quality I was told to shut my mouth and he would fix them. I will be calling the BBB and the Wv state board of cosmetology.
Very horrible service. The guy that was doing my nails was fast and that's fine, but he didn't clean up my cuticles when I asked he didn't fill in the whole nail with the polish. He was very very rude and I just paid for the service he did do, expressed my dissatisfaction and left. He had to reaccomplish the lady before me because he put on the wrong top coat. Horrible horrible.. the place was dirty and unclean, o couldn't stay there.
Please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
I would give zero stars if I could.
I reached out 4 months in advance looking for a place that could accommodate 13 people for a bachelorette outing. I am not from the area and put in a lot of research to make this happen. I ended up reaching Tim at LJ Nails who assured me that his place could handle that many people (6 at a time) and that he would “call his friends” and take care of us.
The months leading up to the reservation, I spoke to LJ Nails around 4-5 times confirming everything. The day of I even went into the shop to confirm we were ready to go.
We entered the shop at our scheduled time and realized there were only 3 staff members working and there were only 6 pedicure chairs!! Once they did begin working on us it was a half-assed job.
1. The gentleman working on my cousin only scrubbed her feet for 20 seconds. She had to pick up the scrubber and complete the job!
2. I’m almost 100% sure they used the same scrub brush on me and my other cousin who was next to me!! This place is completely unsanitary. I was going to walk out right then but due to this being a bachelorette outing I did not want to upset the bride so I stayed and endured the pain.
3. My pedicure maybe lasted 20 minutes. Majority of my time was spent sitting in the massaging chair.
4. After about 1.5 hours of us being there one of the ladies in our party had not even been touched yet. They then took on a walk in instead of working on her! At which point I pointed out the fact that my friend had not even been touched yet and Tim just giggled and said “we will take care of you”….. She ended up walking out and leaving the bachelorette outing.
5. The entire time we were there, Tim, never worked on a single customer. Instead he just walked around the shop trying to make nice with everyone.
6. Now this is the part that is the most upsetting. The staff knew why we were there (celebrating the bride to be) and took complete advantage of the situation. The gentleman working on the bride, I believe Peter is his name, completed services on her without even asking! He did gel and designs on both her feet and hands! He said to her “on your wedding day you get gel and designs” at which she replied “maybe” well guess what it wasn’t her wedding day! I’m not sure why he thought this was giving him permission to give her gel and designs on her bachelorette day!! The bride’s services ended up costing $100!!
We paid the full price for the services and left without raising a stink because it was for the Bride and we didn’t want to upset her. I believe the staff at LJ Nails knew this and took full advantage of the situation and their customers.
After I got back home, I began reaching out to the nail shop trying to reach the owner or manager to make them aware of the terrible, unorganized, appalling service we had received. After being hung up on multiple times I finally reached Kevin, the manager. He was apologetic and listened to my concerns and told me he will discuss with the staff and get back to me. Once he got back to me he basically called me a liar about Peter providing services that the Bride did not ask for. He also informed me that the shop NEVER has more than 3 people working at one time. Why this was never communicated to me the multiple times I spoke to the shop (way ahead of our reservation) is beyond me!! The only thing he offered to fix the situation was ONE free Mani/Pedi at their store. First off, why would I ever return to an LJ Nails? Second off, I don’t even live in the area and third off why would he think giving me ONE free Mani/Pedi would make up for the entire bachelorette outing being ruined, 2 of the 7 ladies not even getting a Mani/Pedi and the store completely taking advantage of the Bride/situation!?
This is a disgrace of a business and they should not even be allowed to continue. Do not waste your time or money on this despicable business you can do better literally anywhere else.
Please share this story to prevent this place from scamming any other customers!
Bizarre and inappropriate customer service experience. I was a walk in for a pedicure. Long wait times, finally seated and had overall a great job done, until the man who was painting my nails placed two thin uneven coats of paint on them and declared me done. He asked me what I thought and told him that I thought it needed another coat of paint. He became very upset and accused me of criticizing his work in front of other customers! DUDE, it is ONE COAT OF NAIL POLISH! I told him it was a very light color, true, and that it needed at least three coats as he was putting them on very thinly. He reluctantly did so and then kept asking me if I was sure I was happy, lifting my foot up over and over like I'm the moron. Thanks for the truly uncomfortable experience. I will never go back.
They definitely don't even come close to the nail salons here in Houston. Even some of the worst ones I've been to here are better. I only went there because I had broken a nail and had no other choice.
Never hace had a complaint about my nails. My choice locally for mani/pedis
If I could give no stars, I would! I live out of town & was in town visiting family so I made an appt for first thing in the morning when the salon opened. I arrived early, & was seated within minutes (the only positive thing about my entire experience). There were three nail techs on the premises & two customers (myself & another individual). I had a middle aged gentlemen taking care of my needs (which were definitely not met!). I have gel polish, never have I had a nail tech use the drill to remove my gel polish, until this gentleman did! My gel polish has ALWAYS been soaked off (I have been using gel polish for years & have been to many different places for gel polish services!). He was rough, makin my cuticle area bleed!! He rushed through (I was literally in the nail salon for 10 mins, that's walkin in the door to walking out the door). He was sloppy, leavin many bubbles & an unfinished, disheveled look. I did politely discuss my concerns during the appt & before leavin. I was not even asked if I'd like a redo (which I would've happily accepted & it would have been much appreciated) or even an apology for that matter (I don't want or expect anything for free) but I do expect to get what I pay for, which unfortunately did not happen! I do not normally give reviews (it's been several years!!). But, I made an exception because I can't stand to think I allowed someone else to receive such low class, rushed, lousy service without at least warning them beforehand! I wish I had something more positive to say, however there is nothing! 😔 Save yourself a wasted trip & find another nail salon close by or you'll more than likely be finding yourself in the same boat as me, disappointed & scheduling another appt elsewhere to get the job done right!!
I brought in a picture of what I wanted (it was black, silver & white and very clean lines) when I was getting my nails done the man doing them was very rude and was talking negatively about Americans being horrible nail artist he was also very tough with the grinding tools. He also did my art and it was very sloppy!! Wold not recommend this place to anybody.
