Best sushi in Overland Park! This place is so good, they have good quality sushi and it’s really fresh. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for some good tasty sushi. Love it!

I highly recommend this place, they have the best sushi ever, it’s so fresh and hibachi is always awesome. Has a good environment to go out with friends and family. Good service too!

Most people in my group chose Teppanyaki and seemed to really enjoy it. I had sushi, and it wasn't overly fresh (I ate it anyway and was fine). Friendly service. The restaurant badly needs better ventilation.

Young male host at the front was incredibly rude. I never review, but was compelled based on this experience. We were 4ft away from the host station and sat for an hour before asking why the delay. The host dismissed us and said he said our name. I pointed out that we're next to him and have been patiently waiting, but he wasn't having it. He said he would find a table in 5 minutes. After 15 minutes I went to him again and said c'mon man. He snapped people aren't getting up. We were finally seated and dinner was fine. But our post dinner plans fell through so really affected the night. I never get angry, especially at the services industry. I came from there and am eternally sympathetic, but this guy was next level snobbery that took away from the night. It will most definitely factor in our sushi/Japanese decision going forward

This was my first time going. We chose this spot for a date night. We had a great time. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding.

We went there for my birthday and it didn't let us down. The cook was funny and made sure everyone had a good time. The food was amazing and affordable, and has a great selection of tasty Susi.

In town for pleasure and stopped in for dinner. A favorite place for the locals. Talked to a few and they regularly dine there.
Chef was very good and entertainment great. Food was just as good as the rest.

The cook was Amazing!!!! The food was mediocre. The salad was dressed with a watered down ginger dressing. Appetizers were baked mussels, these may have tasted better had they not been nearly room temperature. The vegetable selection was very minimal as I'm used to more variety at other Japanese steak houses. The shrimp appetizer consisted of only 3 shrimp. The portions were very good but unfortunately the steak was under seasoned as was the fried rice. Again the service was EXCEPTIONAL!!! This was my first and last time having hibachi at this restaurant.

Great food and entertainment. The chefs are funny and engaging. You get quite a bit of food for the money as well.

The atmosphere represented an exclusive restaurant once we were inside even though it is placed in a mall setting. We were greeted at the door with a menu for the sushi bar which I've not tried before, but figured why not. The sushi was tasty and decided I will try this again in the future. Our table at the grill was ready so we moved over to get ready for the main meal. The staff are very helpful, courteous and somewhat entertaining. The combination I chose was steak and shrimp and very delicious. Too much food, so we took a box home for later. The meal and the experience was enjoyable and we plan to go back soon. This restaurant is very kid friendly as they made accommodations for our 2 young grand daughters for dining with us.

Awesome dining experience. Wife wanted Hibachi for her birthday dinner and we settled on Kyoto and I am glad we did. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained upon entry. Though they were super busy (Saturday evening at dinner time) the staff was super friendly and helpful as well as accommodating. When we sat down the waiter was on point the entire time and was excellent, especially with the amount of work he had to do. The cook was even better and his personality was through the roof and he went above and beyond to ensure the kids at the table had fun.

I feel like when you go to these type of places you pay as much for ambiance as you do the food and they delivered. The food itself was very good to boot. Had the Teriyaki Chicken and Filet Mignon with fried rice and it was quite good, on par with previous Hibachi food from other places I have eaten it.

Being new to the area we wanted to find a quality Hibachi place to eat and we are happy to be successful on our first try. We will define fly to back.

Just had chef James cook for my family. He did a great job! He hit all of the expected tricks, told some jokes and was a charming person. He was wonderful with my children and made the night memorable. The shrimp and scallops were cooked properly and not rubbery like usually happens. The rest of the food was prepared with the same attention to detail.

My family has been going to Kyoto's for years. One of the reasons we continue to return is Chef Rob. While preparing our foods, he creates an atmosphere for enjoyment and entertainment. But there are times we choose not to use the hibachi grill and sit at the sushi bar. It is fun to privately sit at the bar and watch true artisans construct our foods. The more I write this review about Kyoto's, the more I wish I was there enjoying the foods.
