Small and somewhat boring. Nice place to just sit and hang out I guess.

Amazing bar with great atmosphere and no gimmicks. Always has open Mic talent for any established or new artists. Wide variety of drinks and food.

One of the best chill spots on the island. great place to see and meet artist. The drinks are probably the best priced for miles. Bartenders are cool and the open mic nights are the Best,

Best Hipster bar in the greater three village area. It can be disappointingly empty on Fridays and Saturdays occasionally.

Really great Tuesday night open mics that last until the morning hours. It's attached to an Indian food joint which I found pretty interesting. It's very cozy, artsy, & inspiring. They have a patio area where people can drink & smoke while they sit around a firepit. If you make it for the complimentary Indian food, bring it outside to one of the many tables, & enjoy the atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere, good music. Nice warm fire outside on cold winter nights. Fun place to go for a drink.

Small, cozy place with a funky vibe. Friendly bartenders and reasonably inexpensive drinks. Went for an open mic event and had a small table set up in back (I was displaying some artwork). There was a bunch of music hardware and instruments on the chairs and couch in back, but that's to be expected. If the crowd was any indication of what the norm is, it's got a nice following of cool, friendly people. Bonus: It's attached to an Indian restaurant called the Curry Club that has great food. There's an old railroad dining car out back.

Great place for locals, the music scene here is cutting edge, truly on the front lines of the local scene. Great drinks, great options and awesome people. Really worth going to if you are into the late night scene. Bring friends, it's a cool place, always much nicer than some of the other local bars.

This small bar is relaxing and a good place to hear local bands. They have some good beer selections and the bar tenders are nice.

I have been frequenting the Velvet Lounge for several years, have discovered and supported some wonderful music there, had some great dances and laughs, and made many friends I have stayed connected with. Despite what some other reviewers say, I do believe this is a unique spot as I am yet to find another like it on Long Island. It seems to appeal to artists, musicians, creatives, imaginative types, and Wednesday nights have long been a popular night for jazz-type music, free style, and improvisation. There is almost always a $5 cover on Friday and Saturday nights. The company is good, the bartenders are friendly and generally attentive, the atmosphere is laid back with colorful and innovative artwork on the walls. It is true, it is connected to the Curry Club and you can get Indian food. The patio area is a fun extension to this narrow-shaped bar all year round.
