I pick up loads of milk for the company I work for. They're wonderful people and give insightful tours

I love this place! It's tucked away in lovely little Fairbury just past its famous racetrack. They sell their own and local meat, dairy, eggs, honey products, lotions, ointments and other goodies. Also frozen sweet rolls that will make you swoon. They have a self serve machine with creamy homemade vanilla soft serve and cones. Definitely try the bacon hamburger patties and the bratwurst.

Kilgus Farmstead milk is the very best that I have ever tasted, and I'm a milk gourmet. One sip and you will agree 100%!

We love getting the soft serve ice cream when we get our milk! Good selection of meat and they have eggs.

    Hello All Organic Food Lovers,

I have been to Kilgus Farmstead recently and bought a lot of milk for my family. We have ended up with the best yogurt, tastiest cream, the most delicious cheese ever. There were pieces of cream in the milk even after I picked the top cream.

Everything we made from their milk was "great". The only disadvantage is that; We can't go and buy these products from the stores anymore, after tasting the real dairy products.

Thank you for offering us such wonderful, delicious and healthy products Kilgus Family.

I will keep visiting your farm more often from now on and my local stores will lose a lot of customers as I will bring my friends as well. :)

    Have a great summer.

PS: I am sorry that 5-star was the best option available. Otherwise, I'd not hesitate to give you 10 stars.

PSS: I have brought my own containers and bought their raw milk. Then, I pasteurized myself without over boiling it, so I am not sure of any other products as I haven't tested them yet. I agree with you that it's a lot of work: However, believe me; it's worth.

This a family run operation through and through. We learned so much on this tour! Jenna was amazing. There wasn't a question we asked that she couldn't explain. It was about 90 minutes for the tour and treats at the end. You get to see the cows at all stages of growth, learn how they are bred, named, fed, milked, and cared for. They even have a bull, goats, pigs and a dog. We got to see where the cows are milked, how the milk is processed and how it is bottled. Plus, we had delicious ice cream at the end. There is meat, milk, cheese and ice cream available for purchase. A great morning or afternoon activity for families. Lots of fun and very educational!

We buy this milk at Heritage Farmer's Market in Pekin. It is fantastic! Nice knowing where the milk comes from.
