I have stayed here at the Key Lantern on my yearly fishing vacation going on 10 years. I enjoy the Blue Fin side for the open area in front of the rooms. The price is great with the 7th night free. Lor-E-Lei is very close for great breakfast and beautiful sunsets. Live music and they cook your fresh fish you caught that day. I enjoy the older atmosphere of this motel and always meet nice people staying here.
Place it's OK to spend a night there Internet non existent, clean rooms the outside appearance could improve and the rooms too customer service so so two stars are more than enough
It's definitely an older place it is cozy the staff seems very friendly. There are restaurants close to here. It is very economical compared to all other weekly rentals. They also do one night or two night stays as well. Not a great place for young kids due to no area to really play
I live in Fort Lauderdale and I've stayed here twice in the summer of 2016 & once in 2017 while scuba diving in the Keys. It's an older, no frills, but well maintained motel. The staff is friendly, the area feels safe and the rooms are clean. You're able to park your car RIGHT IN FRONT of your door which is great when lugging scuba gear into the room for the night. I will stay here again when diving in the Islamorada area. This place is not for you if you're looking for a resort. but if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to shower and rest your head, you'll love this place.
Rooms are clean and smell very clean too. The A/C kept the room cold just like I like it!
Parking is a little cramped, but for the great price it’s hard to beat.
The sunset photo is a tiki bar within walking distance that has good food and even better sunsets.
old but clean and not too expensive
okay place if you want a cosy old stay
The owner is amazing I work for a local utility company after Hurricane Irma my house was destroyed they let me and my family stay there for free for one week the rooms are clean beds are very comfortable I can't thank them enough what a blessing in a time of need
Great place to hang your hat for a couple nightsshort walk to the a great bar restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinneror a good walk to the now famous WHISTLE STOP bar.i have stayed at the key lantern several times and I'll be back
Key Lantern is not a resort but it is clean with no roaches or bedbugs. You don't run out of hot water either. That's more than one can say about the $300.00 a night rooms in Islamorada. Key Lantern is my and my fishing friends first and only choice when we come to Islamorada.
Walking distance to food and a great sunset
Its ok but not to much to say about ot
My sister and I rented one of the efficiencies, and it was perfectly suitable. The room was clean, and the beds were nice and firm. And the price was hard to beat! The restaurant on the bay behind the property was an added perk.
