Was there for the first time food is absolutely great the DJ is rocking at night it's a must do you have to go on a Friday or Saturday night to get the whole vibe.
I made a last minute reservation with open table which was great because there was a line when we got there.
The music was a little too loud to have easy conversation but the artwork and ambiance was otherwise great. I ordered the stuffed chicken.. don't remember the name but it was flattened and rolled sushi roll style. Cool presentation, but a little dry. Extensive wine selection.
No doubt I was conscious of already overly reviews of this place, but after having personal knife demonstration by Katsuya san himself in the flesh, one absolutely must recognize and respect the amount of care on the quality, delivery and presentation. Love it!
This Sushi was so fresh. I saw a couple of stars. and the price wasn't near what I thought it would be. If you are near stop by!!
Unique decor and ambience made this a memorable dining experience. High end Japanese isn't about quantity, it's about quality and our dinner met the expectation. Spicy tuna on crispy rice was as good as you'd think. Miso butterfish was good, not great, but that isn't a knock. I'd still go back to order it again if I lived locally. I was in between 4 or 5 stars, but really couldn't justify removing a star. This was a one-time visit so take my advice with that grain of salt. Can't vouch for consistency, wait time, or service on a crowded night.
Heavily overpriced for small portions. It is to be expected in the district of Hollywood. The waiters described it as a tapas styled restaurant. I ordered foie gras wagyu beef, salmon and sea urchin sashimi. Their sea urchin sashimi was some of the best I've ever had. They served around 3 ounces of sea urchin sashimi per order. They have a nice cocktail section. I highly recommend the watermelon cucumber. The waiters were friendly and accommodating, albeit understaffed.
Great ambiance. The sushi is amazing and the staff is very nice.
Great service, and the food was delicious. Its extremely small portions meant to be shared. The cocktails are great as well
Good food but very expensive. Not worth the price in my opinion. Also, they have a smoking area right outside the front door which they leave open. Cigarette smoke while eating a meal that I'm paying too much for isn't fun. Probably wouldn't return.
They served the New York Steak warm. You can tell it was not freshly cooked. It was just warmed up and then served to our table. Didn't feel the welcome atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Hostesses were giggling about us and whispering something to each other. Didn't even give a complementary desert on my birthday. Disappointed and not what I expected at all.
Grabbed a quick bite here for dinner during the happy hour. They've got decent specials during happy hour but the freshness of the sushi makes this place worth the visit. Their Otoro and Salmon was phenomenal but the Uni was just okay. Can be a little pricey for the average sushi goer, but worth it.
For the price the service should be a bit more efficient (empty water glasses, slow food turn around, waiter taking too long to greet). The new remodel is much better and the environment change over the last few years is night and day difference (better). The food is always good and the staff is always friendly, professional, and polite.
Loved this place! Sushi was fresh! And they also have gluten free options, and a bit pricey but totally worth it. A good date night place. Definitely coming back.
