Pretty disappointed, honestly not sure if my expectations were high, or if the menu is misleading, but my sandwich fell short of all the hype. I've enjoyed better sandwiches elsewhere, proof positive there were hardly any people there and "In&out" was packed. So yea I would be embarrassed to recommend this place, or say anything positive. The price does not reflect the quality that's for sure.

Every Fat Sal's I've visited has never failed to impress me with just how well they have mastered the art of making the tastiest, most joyously over-the-top sandwiches you did ever see. This location even offers an exclusive UCLA themed sandwich called "The Fat Bruin". You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't get yourself one.

Fat Sal's is to food what Lockheed Martin is to military weapons. Their ingenuity of engineering the perfect sandwich can only be described as breath taking. You can get sandwiches with French fries and even mozzarella sticks in them!

Tasty (fully loaded) sandwiches. I just wish they had smaller sandwiches. They only come in one size and I usually can only finish half of it- they are that big!

Best place in Westwood. Be it Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. These people know how to make delicious grab's. Priced Very reasonable. A must try place if u are visiting Westwood or hungry and want a fast service and delicious food.

Fat Sal's is a place to go when you have late night cravings and definitely fills you.

You definitely regret eating any of their sandwiches right away because the sandwiches really live up to their name. They are very greasy, fattening, and unhealthy, but very delicious when you do get to eat them. Would recommend coming here to try it but not too much because it's not the most healthy.

Most people come here very late at night and lines can get long, so do beware. Would recommend not coming too late at night or the wait could be forever.

The place to go if you like your sandwiches meaty and filled with crispy fried goodness! The place has a small walk-up order window and outdoor counter top seating only but the sandwiches are awesome.

So this was a major disappointment, if u ever eat here u will love the food. But if u have tried the location on sunset, then u will see how they can't compare in quality. It's a sandwich cant we get it the same at two locations. Nope,, i got the fat texas, the meat was skimpy the chicken was small and one mozzarella stick. To boot they have no shakes and a super small location so get it togo.

Gotta try a fat sal. This place is awesome when you want to gorge yourself on fatty greasy food (so tasty!). Good luck on finding a parking spaceand know that there is always a wait.

This is grease galore. Which probably is why it's pretty damn good. They have some very creative sandwiches and make them into these delicious grease bomb heaven. Is it often the late night spot to eat after a night out drinking.

Fat Sal's brought me back to Philly! I have not had a real Philly cheese steak since I moved here 12 years ago until Fat Sal's. They even had fries with gravy!

The cheese steak was spot on 5 stars. It truly couldn't get any better. The steak was so tender it melted with the cheese in your mouth. The bread is so fresh, soft and wide enough to hold a lot of fillings. I cannot find one negative thing to say about my sandwich.

The mozzarella cheese and gravy fries bring me home to South Philly. I only wish they were as good as the sandwich. The fries alone were great, and they looked so yummy that my husband dived into them first. Unfortunately, for me I have taste buds and a sense of smell. Before I even tasted the fries I could smell the there was going to be a problem. As soon as the first bite hit my tongue I could taste the scorch of the gravy. It was an early lunch hour, so it could only get worse, too.

I did not make an attempt to return the fries because my husband (who has no sense of smell and few taste buds) didn't mind the scorched taste. I would have tried to let them know the problem with the gravy, but the cashier was so busy with a line of people I couldn't get to him.

Speaking of lines, this place is very busy. The line does move pretty fast, but the lack of seating and wait time for food will be an issue if you need to get in and out fast. I would definitely call your order ahead if they take phone orders. It also took us 15 minutes to find parking because we refused to pay $8 for parking right next to the place.

All issues set aside, I will definitely be making a few trips a month to my new throwback to Philly spot. They have so many yummy looking sandwiches I will have to try. By the way, I found this place after seeing Dives, Drive ins andWith Guy Ferraro.
