One star is too much. The room was absolutely disgusting. Very filthy. there was urine on the toilet seat and papers on the floor. also, no toilet paper. They had to bring us some. Told the staff the next morning because we got in after 10 at night and were too tired to complain. They said they won't do anything because we didn't complain the night before. Very, very rude staff. We were terrified there would be bed bugs. gross
Every single room, I repeat, every single room, has a view of the lake! There's a little bit of playground equipment for the kiddos and they set up bonfires right by the water at night. We have already decided we would stay here again next time we're in the area.
Like everyone else mentions, it's pretty dated indoors. Adorable, vintage 70s-looking bathrooms, etc. And it's great anyway! It was under $100 (including taxes) for a Saturday night, the room was clean, smelled fine, etc.
I must say the photos from the website will set you up for disappointment. This is a motor inn, hotel at best. The tiny bathrooms have not been remodeled since early 1980s. I haven't seen a green toilet since my youth! The tiny tv has 16 channels, mini fridge is that, mini, in fact everything is compact including the bed. I'm 5'10 and it was the smallest queen I've ever slept in.
My biggest problem with this place is the marketing, it sells online like a sweet picturesque place, nope, think motel six.
Now I will say the view is beautiful, and the rooms were clean but in need of upgrade. This joint is over promoted, under delivered, and over priced. Book here only if your budget forces you to.
We had a wonderful stay for 2 days. They have a beautiful view facing sea. The rooms are well maintained and clean. They rooms are pretty cheap price considering the other hotels around. Easy access to all restaurant around. Good staff and they make sure to keep their guest happy
Nice location on Lake Huron Beach. Fire rings. Great view of sunrise. Mattresses are shorter than usual. Feet hang off the edge for even slightly tall people. Carpet in rooms is stained. Nice and newer showers and bathtubs/bathroom yet very small. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Close to Mackinac ferry. Friendly service.
Great location in St Ignace for sunrises. Chose this hotel because of price and pool for the kids. The 2 queen bed room was fine with 2 kids in the bed and one in a pack&play. The main room, bathroom and linen were all clean. The free breakfast was simple but good. I would stay at K Royale again.
Room smelt of sewer from the toliet being used and not flushed or cleaned prior to staying in the room.
The first bed felt wet or damp and disgusting when first laid down in.
Staff in the morning were rude, and causing a scene in the parking lot while on a personal phone call. Screaming F' you while little kids of guest present.
Staff in morning were rude upon reporting the internet had been out all night and asked if they had any plans to check into getting the issue resolved.
All on the first of five nights. I would expect a little better, but begs to the cost of the room rate.
Will not stay again. Will not recommend.
Basic room, view is nice but the balcony really comes up short as there is 0 privacy between each room.
Good place to stay at good price staff was friendly been there twice
My girlfriend and I rented a non-lakeview room for 87 dollars for one night. The room was extremely basic with 15 channels available. Breakfast consisted of small donuts, stale off-brand cereal and weird false orange juice. Wifi worked only intermittently (we weren't in the room alot to use it anyway). The lakefront was dirty and unfit for swimming (being on the lake huron side it wasn't too surprising). I don't need frills on vacation. But paying that kind of money to stay in a little box for a few hours of your weekend should give you more than what this place does. I understand the time of year (midsummer) and area dictates the high price, but I will never stay here again knowing that nothing out of the ordinary or of quality is offered here.
Took entire family including dog for a 5 day fun filled vacation. I love this place..Super friendly staff. Plan to return yearly. Grand babies had so much fun on the lakefront & in the pool. My dog Max was in heaven the only issue was him eating goose poop but when you want to enjoy nature you have to expect these kinds of issues. Can't say much about the game room or laundry facility because we never used them.
Thanks for the great time
