Your Chicago culinary experience won't be complete without taking a pitstop at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. It's where I had the best meal in Chicago! Not only that their foods are superb but the service and the place are awesome too. Totally deserves my 5 star rating.
Most definitely the best meal I had in Chicago! The servers were extremely professional very detailed oriented. They were precise and very accurate in their description of the menu items and in their delivery. Make sure you save room for dessert!
Food was 4.5/5, service was 4.9/5, atmosphere was old school steakhouse 4/5. Steak was cooked perfectly, king crab Louis salad was incredible. Not the best steak I've ever had, but definitely up there on the list. Beer list is lacking.
Every single item I put in my mouth was excellent! The steak was top notch, grilled to perfect live-fire. Try the hash browns you won't be disappointed! Mac and cheese was creamy and the pasta wasn't over cooked! I had the seafood salad to start it was a wonderful blend of texture and flavor and the perfect dressing! Try this place it's worth every penny!
Would have given this place 4 1/2-5 stars but I'm disappointed in them tonight. I dine in and the food is great I order carry out from time to time and tonight I'm not pleased with the food. Looks like it was thrown together and a lot of additives were missing like the butter for the bread. The scampi sauce was skimpy for my stuffed crab shrimp. The potatoes seemed to be skimpy plus they were cold as well as the shrimp. I've had better so I know they can do better however I'm disappointed. I know it was late but who doesn't like a good late night meal? If it's not worth it don't sell it. You don't want to lose a customer!
The food here was absolutely incredible. It was expensive but you would expect that from a high end restaurant like this. The service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. It was very crowded but that means people like it there and they are getting good business which they deserve. I will eat here every time I visit Chicago, no matter how expensive it is. It is worth every penny
High end Seafood restaurant that does things right. Went on a Sat night and they were busy. Hard to get in which is always a sign that the restaurant is good. Started with the large stone crab and they were great. Next was the crab cake and wow, it was excellent. This is a must have. The crab bisque was also good as well as the sea bass. They bring out a key lime pie for every new customer. We had that and the blueberry pie which was awesome. Overall, I would recommend highly.
What more can a girl ask for? Steak and seafood . best combo ever. The food is super fresh, the crab is amazing!!! So sweet no need to even add butter. The meat is cooked to perfection and the sides are huge.
The sirloin steak was juicy and cooked to perfection. In addition to the exquisite food, the service was unbeatable -- from valet parking my car to checking my coat and especially our affable waitress. I cannot wait to go back. You might spend $50/person for drinks and food; but it's incredibly worth it.
"Eat at Joe's" was the subtle message I received every Saturday morning growing up and watching cartoons. It seems that Looney Tunes was right — you MUST eat here!
I started with the salad which, I have to say, was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I savored the bread and butter while I anxiously awaited the main course: crab legs. They came pre-cracked (which was convenient) and each bite was like eating a buttery piece of heaven. I cannot emphasize enough how delicious the crab was! I was so full that I was not going to get desert but, to my delight and astonishment, they had coconut cream — my favorite. It, too, was delicious and completely in harmony with the entire experience.
5/5 Stars — Would eat crab legs here again!
Definitely our go to spot while in Chicagoin fact, we dine at Joe's every single time we are in Vegas, Chicago, and Miami. Excellent crab, steaks, grilled tomatoes, corn, and awesome desserts! Service has always been exceptional. Never been? Ignore the few negative reviews and see for yourself.
The atmosphere in Joe's is definitely a little fancy. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming! I ordered a cup of the Manhattan Clam Chowder, which I wasn't really a big fan of, but my boyfriend liked it. I had an entree order of the Lump Crab Cakes which turned out super delicious. The crab chunks in it were absolutely huge. My boyfriend had the 8oz Filet Mignon - he said it was cooked perfectly and was very good. We also shared a side of their mashed potatoes which was surprisingly tasty, one if the best potato sides I've ever had. Everything is a little pricey but was all very very good. Didn't have space for dessert, but we'll be back!
