We bought a package which included a two-night stay as well as two days at Granite Peak, a nearby ski area. Our experience at Jefferson Street was highly satisfactory; staff was exceptionally cordial and helpful. The building itself is modern and clean; our room was well-appointed and comfortable. You would do well to take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the hotel layout, which is more complex than a typical hotel. The continental breakfast worked well for us; it features most typical breakfast goods as well as a couple of hot items and one meat selection each morning (sausage and ham on our two days).
Perhaps an oversight at check-in, we were not notified that the parking ramp permit we were given was not part of the package, but a $3 per night surcharge. We discovered this at check-out, a small surprise. Staff apologized for the oversight and excused that it is a city ramp - which is fine - but not a proper explanation why we were not notified that it was an extra fare. Because of this I could not offer a 5-star rating. To be fair, free overnight parking appears sparse at this location so the ramp was convenient.
There are many restaurants and entertainment options available nearby and well worth a visit. The nearby mall is a plus but unfortunately underused. Overall a very pleasant experience, we would stay here again.response / report this review -

We ate at City grill. We stopped in on a Saturday night without reservations and they were able to seat us right away. Had Bruschetta as an appetizer and it was some of the best we've ever had. Prime rib was good also as well as service. Over all a good experience.

Hotel was nice. Stayed Sunday night and was looking for something close to do and the front desk was very helpful. Unfortunately a lot of things were closed on Sunday. The attached restaurant was closed for its Christmas party. Ended up going to an Italian restaurant which the hotel shuttle took me to and from. Driver was very friendly(Jerry) and very helpful with suggestions and answered all of my questions. Room was very nice and clean-whirlpool in the pool area was green and gross.

The hotel staff picked me up from the airport and got me safety to the hotel. It was a great room with a soft and soft pillows. It had great smelling soaps and shampoo in the room. The staff went the extra mile in order to help me get to the airport. Great place to stay.

I have stayed here 3 times now in the last 3 years for a work trip. It is always so clean and the workers seem friendly. The pillows are amazing!!! So comfortable. Love staying here.

I visited the hotel for a wedding reception and as an overnight guest. The recption hall was a nice size and carried sound well. It made for a nice base for wedding decor. As an overnight guest, the room was clean and well sized for the price. My largest complaint with the hotel was the noise. You can easily hear music from a wedding reception, as well as hear people too easily right outside of your room and the rooms being cleaned and vacuumed in the early morning. The shower knob was falling off which made it difficult to manage. However, the front desk was accomadating to our needs and friendly. Overall I would rate the wedding reception experience related to the hotel space a 4 and the overnight stay a 3. The hotel is nicely located and I would stay again if in the area, however I wouldn't go out of my way to stay again

Room wasn't ready when we checked in, and we weren't able to get into a room until about an hour after we arrived. Other than that, the rooms were very nice, been though it seemed like we had to walk forever to get to our room because of the layout of the building. The neighborhood was a great place with lots of things to do.

Stayed here a few years ago. Nicest hotel I've ever been in. And I've stayed in some that were rated as 4 star. Staff was excellent and so was the restaurant. Highly recommend!!

We were in the ballroom for a company dinner. The room is very nicely done and clean. There is a nice little bar to get drinks. The chicken that was provided was a little dry.

The location is great, right in the middle of downtown with the ability to walk to shops, restaurants and community events. Continental breakfast was served each morning. We were able to have a relaxing time with our child in a suite.

The front desk service is top notch, friendly and prompt also very informative. The hotel is well maintained and has an upscale feel. The room was spotless, no complaints. There are a variety of rooms that range from standard queen or king up to large ultimate suites. The photos included with my review are for the standard king bedroom. I would say this hotel would fit most travelers needs including larger families, though it does seem like a hotel that caters to small children, more of a business traveler atmosphere. If you are needing accommodations in the Wausau area, I would highly recommend this hotel.
