Salsa is PERFECT!! Nothing beats their chips, salsa and guacamole with a refreshing Jalapeno Margarita to wash it all down! The outside seating makes for a great environment to just relax and enjoy your friends!

My family has been going to Javier's since I was a kid, since back when they opened their original location in Laguna Beach. It's still a must visit when I'm in town. No matter which location you visit, you can count on consistently great food and service. Their staff are always so welcoming and service is spot on. The food is also always reliably excellent. They've certainly gotten more refined and gourmet as far as presentation is concerned, but not at the expense of taste. I'll keep coming as long as they're around!

Food was great. However our server was not we did not get a refill on our drinks until we tracked him down. Never saw him again till we received the check. When dealing with him was not friendly at all. We have been here several times nothing like today.

The food here is ok. Not that authentic but they try which is good for the effort. It is also very pricey, which is why they get 3 stars. I've had better Mexican food in other locations for better pricing.

Best Mexican food that I have tried so far. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. Very good bar atmosphere for socializing.
Keep in mind to make a reservation in advance if you don't want to wait for two and a half hours or even get no table at all.
I really appreciated that my water glass was refilled that often But if they could find a way not to spill the water on the table so often, that would be great !!

The atmosphere was great. Chairs were super comfy and the views were amazing. The wait staff was very friendly. The food was decent but it wasn't your traditional Mexican food.Chips and salsa were very good. I ordered the scallops and they were good but not sure they were worth the hefty price tag. It was pretty much what you'd expect from a swanky joint catering to well-off people.

Great setting albeit on the edge of a parking lot. Would not know it. The west side of the dining room has a view of the Pacific and the coast highway. Ambiance is relaxing. Very spacious. We arrived at opening of lunch time and received excellent service. Not too busy. Shrimp and crab entrees were top notch. I understand this place rocks in the evenings with the younger generation. Large bar.

Just on sheer beauty, this place is quite something to behold (5 stars) The decor, the lighting, the expansive outdoor patio, and beautiful view of the ocean is a lot to take in. I was very impressed walking into this restaurant, with my eyes dancing around trying to take it all in. The waiter we had was very pleasant. The Javiers house margarita I had was so strong, it will knock your socks off if you're a lightweight with your alcohol like myself. It was just strong and not very flavorful like I was hoping.
The food(3 stars): It was good/decent but I wasn't doing the wiggle dance in my seat. It tasted just a step under/comparable to some Mexican restaurants that I have tried that was half the price. Maybe the seafood options are better than what I had, I don't know. I would say if you're a local, then this is a beautiful place for a nice gathering. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but I'm not against it either (to try something different).

Ate there last night. Been there twice before. Place is lovely. Service very good. Setting great. Food mediocre and flavorless. Had a dish of three enchiladas. Hardly any stuffing. Couldn't tell which was shrimp, which crab, which lobster. Prices outrageous. $38 and not even a side dish of beans or rice. Could have had better food at almost any neighborhood Mexican restaurant for less then half the price.

The restaurant is beautiful both inside and out, and the authentic Mexican food was well worth the price. When you show up, be prepared to see the nicest cars in town. The valet lot is full of expensive cars right in front of the restaurant. If you don't valet for $7, most spots around the restaurant are usually full so be ready to walk. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, but even if you have one the wealthier folks seem to get their tables first. Other than parking and waiting, the experience was great and the restaurant was very lively.

A+ for presentation n and atmosphere, this place is absolutely beautiful and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. A+ for their margaritas, they are indeed LIFE-CHANGING. Made with great quality tequila and fresh ingredients.
B- for the food, I know Mexican food (I must disclose that I grew up eating it and cooking it, so it takes a phenomenal-innovative Mexican dish to impress me).

Overall, I would totally recommend this restaurant for Margaritas and the ambiance, the food I could live without. Also, the guacamole is $10! Yes, 10 hard-earned dollars!
