The service was great. Even though we visited midday during a lull, food was served fast & hot. Prices were reasonable. The food was not quite what I expected, as I'm used to New Mexico style, but was tasty.

Friendly, fast service, great food, and tasty Margaritas! Perfect location downtown with parking. But if you don't drive, it's pretty easy for Uber to find you!

I never been back here since it was a mortuary back in the 70’s. They did a good job of turning the reception and viewing rooms into dining space. The former embalming and makeup rooms is now the kitchen. All that aside the food is great and the price is reasonable. One of the better Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles.

We came here from out of town looking for a place to eat and this popped up on the recommended restaurants. Definitely was impressed food was very good and filling. Our waitress was very friendly. Definitely would go back!

Food was just OK. Most came out cold to lukewarm. Came here for a bday celebration and was told the food used to be amazing. Two stars for the service since the staff was all great.

One of LAs oldest Mexican food places and still thriving for a reason. Food was excellent and the staff were incredibly nice and hardworking. Street parking or a $10 lot just across the street.

This place is pretty much as good as it gets for restaurant Mexican food and drinks. Don't over think it. Friendly staff, and generous portions and pours. Casual dining.

This is the newest of five locations of this nearly 100 year old restaurant. The decor was surprisingly appropriate in this very old building which was an auto dealership in the early 20th Century. Service was great and the food was tasty.
The only problem with this location is that parking is at a premium. They lost their own parking in the lot next door. They vouchered parking for the lot across the street but the lot refused to honor it claiming that it was a "flat rate day." We paid $10 to park from about 4 to 6 P.M.response / report this review -

The place was beautiful, just like a rustic Mexican ranch house. Service was excellent and quick. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks and coffee full all of the time. However, the food was not good at all. We were expecting authentic Mexican fare, but this place has tried to mix Mexican food with a touch of fanciness and "healthy" bits here and there. For example, we had the chilaquiles for breakfast and they were made with small strips of tortillas like the ones you would use to top a tortilla soup. A big no no! Also vegetables on chilaquiles and chunks of chicken! None of those go on authentic chilaquiles. One star for the beautiful place and history behind, one star for the excellent service. No stars for the food.

Great Mexican food! Excellent portion sizes, great sides, and great service! The amount of food was definitely worth the price. Can't go wrong with the classic menu items! Highly recommended.

This historic restaurant has more than one location; each a different decor and feel but quality and service is consistently excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Generous portions and quick service. My favorite dish is an off menu item, seafood quesadilla, which they are happy to make for me. You can dine in main dining room or patio in back. This location is convenient to Staples Center and LA Live; ideal for large groups or if you're catching shows at those venues. I would like to tell you about my experience this evening at your Staples center location. The food was as always exceptional. The service was outstanding. Maria was awesome. She is the perfect example of the perfect server. She was on top of everything. I never needed a refill. She was spectacular. Thank you and thank you Maria
