This is the second time calling there for first guinea pig that had stones and would of died got taken care by someone else. Now today I call with a chinchilla that doesn't seem well. Refer you you to East Amherst animal hospital with no exotic doctor in till Monday there. Guess our animals need to pick Mondays Tuesdays or Wednesday to get sick. Never calling there again. Guess gave to find another vet to see my pets. Didnt have a problem getting into a local vet that sees exotics. Don't know if they are trying to cut down on patients or what the excuse is now.
I would like to add that we called again after this and was told the same thing. Well since this the guinea pig has passed away. Thank God we found someone else to see our exotics. No more Jamestown veterinary hospital. It wasn't like we were new to there practice been there before guess that doesn't matter.response / report this review -

I have a cane corso male. I have this vision of my dog in my head. The young male vet. Was adamantly against me cropping my dogs ears. He told me there is no benefit to cropping. I told him i disagreed and had his ears cropped with laser surgury in pittsburg. He also was adamant that i neuter him at 6 months. I told him. I disagree with neutering until full grown. I said neutering eliminates growth hormones and could affect a large breed dogs bone growth. . Ive had nothing but the ABSOLUTE BEST CARE for my dog since 8 weeks old. I listen to what the vets say , then make my own decision. All of the vets , as well as the staff have treated my dog with care and compassion. The waitng room is large with very little wait time. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND the jamestown veterinary hospital . I can bring him in any time without appointment to weigh him and say hi. In one week my dog Pooh will be 6 months old and he weighs 80 pounds already. Thank you Jamestown veterinary hospital

I had great experiences at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital until my dog and I ran into the younger male vet for the first time. That vet was rabidly aggressive with his insistence that my dog must be "fixed". I never thought I'd have to fight my way out of a vet's office to keep my dog intact.

Do NOT go here and especially do NOT see Dr. Schorpe. She is not compassionate and would rather put money from failed treatments in her pocket than let the family make the best decision for their pet. She made my father feel terrible and like he was in the wrong for putting down his little princess who had been dealing with health issues for well over a year and was not getting better, no matter what we tried. It's unfortunate that someone who is supposed to be good with animals can be so cruel to their families who love them and want the best for them.

Old vet was awesome. New tried to force my daughter to fix her dog. The dog had seizures. It could kill him. It almost out her her into a stress seizure.

Girlfriend took the guinea pig in because he was coughing and had something going on with his ears. Receptionist told her over the phone, the exam was going to be $55ouch, but ok. As soon as she walked in, she said she didn't feel "comfortable," the staff wasn't especially friendly. They clipped his nails, Thank you. While checking his heart, lungs, and gut sounds, the vet told her whatever she was doing was causing the guinea pig to be more irritatedas if the stethoscope pushing on his ribs and gut wasn't causing any irritation?! Seriously?! Go to pay the bill and it's $161!!! Exam turned out to be $65 plus meds and other tests. I think we'll find another vet, thanks.

They helped my cat on a SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!! i called the regular vet and a machine sent me to Erie. Here they realized that my cat had an emergency and the vet helped her. They gave me the help when i needed.

Do not go to this place. Dr. Schrope does not seem to have the skills needed to work with the public. It's unfortunate that the previous vet retired and handed this wonderful place over to someone who has zero people skills.

I can not express how our family was respectfully treated recently as we had to put our little man down after a wonderful 9 years. From the time I called as we were an emergency first seen patients to the hours we were there I can not THANK them ALL enough. God Bless each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts.

We always feel that our cats get the highest quality care from the staff at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital. All of the girls who work at the reception desk are friendly and helpful. We have brought all of our pets here since the 1970's.

I called them for an emergency and they won't help me because I need to be "thier client" what kind of animal care givers are you refusing service to emergency cases! Went to Inkley instead. Y'all should go to him instead of this facility.
