Robbed. Back in October I purchased 4 cruise tickets through Groupon.after arriving the place was CLOSED.i never received a call or email notifying me that it was under going maintenance. Aside from the $130 I had already spent , the drive, the time and everything else I invested to get here was worthless Groupon would not refund me due to Jack's no refund policy.however the Jack's receptionist rescheduled another time. Once again I relived the same scenario, i made an investment to a boat that was still "undergoing maintenance". (That's twice ,the long drive,the gas,etc It doesn't take a genius to do the math on how much you invest to go on a trip an hour away from home)Today I called to use "my credit" I had with them, she rudely said no.the tickets were $60 due to a special new year's cruise, apparently she didn't do the math considering I already spent $130 and if I needed just two tickets it would live me with $10 credit,so how can I not be compensated ? So my $130 was worth less two months ago than it is today not even counting how much I already invested pertaining to the two cancelled trips ? . Poor business management

We took about 25 friends on this experience last night and 6 had fun. We called earlier in the day and were told '2ft swells and mild conditions'. With this being said 19 of us were sick along with another 50 on the boat. If that is mild conditions then I urge everyone not to ruin thier night. We took bromine/pressue point wrist bands/oils behind ears and all were still very sick. I can only assume the old boat needs a new stabilizer to make this boat enjoyable. My cousin who joined us wanted to play black jack but the few tables they had stayed full. Also there was no sports book to bet on college games/ufc last night and no way to watch. I think the 2 hour drive to casinos on land is 100% better than 1.5hr boat ride of sickness/old machines and limited tables.

I absolutely loved Jacks or Better Casino. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good, nothing too fancy though. The drinks are good and it’s nice that they serve free drinks! We went out when the sailing conditions were around 2-3ft. We took medication before hand and felt fine throughout the trip. A lot of people were hanging out on the couches and chairs, even some napping as the trip gets tiring. I would not want to go out if the sailing conditions were any worse though. I was not too impressed with the slot machines. Most of them had issues, some you had to wait for someone to pay you out, or it takes your ticket and won’t read it. About a fourth of the machines didn’t even work. I don’t really care for gambling, so this didn’t effect me too much, but it was sure annoying the few machines I did play. I will definitely come back!!!

(This was back in August) Me and my mom drove six hour drive.When we got there nobody was there no signs,no nothing.There was a person putting in some food inside the curse boat.I asked him where can I buy the tickets and he told me that they were not going to open because they didn't have enough people. Me and my mom were like what? I don't think that it is cool when it would say that it was opened. It suck to go all the way over there for nothing and come back home. Don't be to sure that it is opened because it could happened to you too you might want to call first.That was my mistake. We will never go there again !!! 👎👎👎👎👎

The seas were very rough. They said the worst they had been. And I was very sick regardless of all the medicine. But they were very accommodating. Bring ginger ale and crackers at no cost. A lot of people were sick and the staff was extremely helpful to everyone. Even though I was sick I would recommend this to someone who doesn't get motion sick.

Went today, had an awesome time. Nobody throwing up, like some posts said. Crew and cruise was amazing. Will definitely go again. Wild shout out to Don a really great entertainer. Can't wait to go again!!! Don't let the blah blah keep you from trying it.

Rough Seas but still a great day! We were worried because of all the negative reviews, and I was even more concerned because I had never been on a boat before and had no idea whether I would be subject to sea sickness or not. I had over-the-counter patches ready just in case and also purchased the wrist bands they sell on the boat. The forecast was for 3-4 ft. waves so we were expecting it to be a boat full of sick people. Out of the 15-or-so people in our party, 4 didn't feel great once we were out there, but none actually got sick. We saw a few others who looked like they weren't doing so great, but only one that got physically ill that we know of. The staff was really great! All very friendly and helpful. The boat and decor, tables, machines, etc. looked a little dated but were still nice. The food was meh (think stadium food). All in all, we had a blast and thought it was well worth the very reasonable ticket price and unlike many casinos, the table minimums allowed for non-gamblers like me to feel it was worth the money to give it a shot. We walked off the boat with more money than we walked on with and we plan to go back out. Give it a try!

Very honest review.
I went on the cruise Saturday after reading the comments and reviews from other people. I read about the boat rocking and causing everyone to get sick and I thought "what a bunch of sissies".. the rocking is bad. No matter how macho you think you are, take the motion pills. DO NOT TRY TO TOUGH IT OUT. I personally didn't get too sick, but my girlfriend was miserable the whole trip. Almost all of the women were sick as dogs after 45 min into the trip.
Now that that's out of the way the staff was AMAZING. They tried their hardest to keep everyone positive and tries helping them feel better. The boat has your favorite card games and we had no problem getting tables (because everyone was sick) lol
The food was really good. They had a decent menu and it came out pretty quick.
I want this to be a thing, but they have to do something about the boat rocking.response / report this review -

I was so excited! My friends and I took our medicine, had our sunglasses and were ready to gamble. By the time we got to the point when we could gamble, I was so sick I could't open my eyes. I was so seasick I never got to gamble. I didn't feel better until we were on the way home. The DJ was great and I even felt well enough to dance a little. The staff is great and were there to help all of the seasick passengerswho were splayed out on all the couches, benches, slot machines If they had stabilizers or some way to ease the rocking, they would have a great business. I can't go back, that was horrible and I have been on lots of boats, ships, catamarans etc. This was too much for me and my friends. If you don't have a problem with motion sickness go and have a blast. if just thinking about movement makes you sick DON'T DO IT!

Was on the May 20th sailing, and it was easily one of the worst experiences of my life. Let me preface this by saying I have grown up on boats of all kinds, am an avid cruiser, and am generally more comfortable on water than on land. Even so, I took motion sickness pills for two nights before this little adventure, "just to be safe."
If I had taken the whole bottle, I don’t think it would have helped. It’s about an hour and a half out before the casino can open, and while the ship was certainly rocking at this point, it was a manageable back-and-forth rocking that only served to make us pleasantly drowsy as we waited to gamble. The casino opened, and my friend and I made our way down to the first deck where most of the slot machines were.
First problem – It was *extremely* warm down there. Everyone around us was complaining about it. I went and tried in vain to find someone who actually worked there, but only found a security person who just kind of shrugged at me. At this point, the movement subtly began to change. Still back-and-forth, but now also front-to-back and even up and down like a plane hitting wild turbulence. Seas were 2-4’ that day, mind you, which is not that much. This has to be THE worst-balanced boat in existence.
The crazy movement along with the heat caused a lot of people to start turning green. A LOT, me included. Within a couple of minutes, people were running to trash cans, and the sounds were unpleasant to say the least. I went to the restroom and was lucky enough to get one of the stalls. Very shortly thereafter, the ladies’ restroom was a very accurate reenactment of the food poisoning scene from “Bridesmaids.” I wish like hell I was exaggerating even a little… but it really, horrifyingly was exactly like that, and that was just on the inside. You could hear people on the outside, as well. Several people said the top outside deck was just as bad, and that people were laid out everywhere. I can’t imagine being an employee on that boat and having to clean everything up twice a day.
The cavalier attitude of the crew was mind-boggling. “Oh, we’ve seen worse – Sometimes the *whole* ship gets sick!” REALLY?? That’s your business model – Pray that at least a few people don’t get sick??
We’ve never been so happy to see dry land, and for me that is saying something. Looking on the bright side, it was the most profitable gambling trip I’ve ever made, since nearly all my money came back with me!!response / report this review -

Being able to gamble in Texas is awesome; You have a full sports-book, table games and slots of all price ranges. you have just enough of everything so its really cool. The price of admission is $15.00 but you're riding on a yacht for a few hours so its pretty cool that's in and of itself a nice experience the fresh air the sundown its all pretty cool and you get two drinks with your admission.The food is a la carte but actually good classic dishes and the Cheese steak is probably the best and the fries. The craps dealers we had were great very helpful attentive and funny. Everyone at the table had a great and we were on a first name basis with everyone by the end of the night which is even better. The complaints I have about this are 1. the alcohol is not the best quality stuff its not even Crown or Jack its off brand stuff; 2. The drinks are not free as you're gambling which really sucked the true casino experience always includes alcohol free of charge. Other than that it was a great time wish I could review higher but we need a little bit more. but thank you for having this in Texas!
