If it were possible to give this establishment 0 stars, I would. It is unbelievable how awful this dealership's employees and management are. When you think of the typical "used car salesman", that is what you find at Jack Matia Honda in Elyria. Ron is a lying, crooked and greedy man who will try to force any sale, without any regard of the buyers safety. He puts up a front as the "nice guy" who wants to give you a deal, but sells a car with known safety recalls without informing the buyer. Randy, the management, could care less about safety recalls, or his negligent employee. I would never recommend anyone to this horrible dealership with crooked employees. It's disturbing they are still in business.

Took my car in for a new ignition switch and they wanted over 900 dollars. 500 in parts and 400 in labor. I refused to pay that so i ordered a new ignition switch online and replaced it myself in 20 minutes. They wanted 400 dollars for 20 minutes of work. I winged how to do it too so it probably would have taken them 5 minutes. And the new part was 100 dollars. So screw these guys and save your money elsewhere

I had a surprisingly very good visit with this dealer when purchasing a preowned Hyundai Genesis at their Used Car Lot. Many dealers have a bad reputation due to aggressive sales tactics or terrible financing deals, however I’m happy to report that this was absolutely not the case with this dealership.

My advice to anyone looking at purchasing vehicles at any dealership, go to Jack Matia if you’re in the area or don’t mind driving a few hours like I did. Family-owned businesses seem to offer better service as opposed to larger-scale chains from my experience.

For reference, I dealt with Ron Messinger (sales consultant) and Ryan Ruiz (business manager) directly. They were both wonderful and seem to be genuinely good people, which is certainly becoming harder to find in this day and age. Don’t hesitate to reach out to these two when you’re in the market for a vehicle!

Volume dealers get a bad rap - and they often should. Jack Matia Honda is NOT a volume dealer and they SHOULD get a bad rap. I was in the market to trade in a Ford Fusion with high miles for a Civic EX. Got there and service was very slow. Not sure why it takes 40 minutes to get a used car appraisal and price with only 3 customers in the show room and at least 8 employees milling about. I bought from elsewhere. The trade was 100% a low ball offer as I got 33-40% more from 2 other dealerships the same day. The omen that this place operates like a mom and pop bakery handed down to their off spring was the tiny (4 oz?) water bottle offered while we wait. Maximizing margins as much a possible I presume:) I bought from a large dealership in N Olmsted after leaving there:) - overall rude and disorganized but worth it to save 10% on a vehicle transaction in my view. Here is what I see wrong with Matia.
1 - small operation trying to squeeze every penny of their low (comparably) volume sales
2 - resistance to breaking out of the mom and pop bakery mentality.
3 - inefficient process and procedures
I am sure the employees are good people but I was not there to make friends. I was there to save the most money I can to buy the second largest purchase Americans typically make - A CAR!

The service dept was very helpful. I tried to get a new 2017. But I owe to much on the 2008 I got. But when I can I'm going back there. Also Pat wehrenberg was very nice and helpful.

Great people! Drove 3 hours to test drive and took the vehicle home. Very friendly and professional! No pressure and didn't try to put any unwanted warranties or extras on you! Loved buying my SUV from these guys! 👍
