Delicious food, wonderful chocolate martinis, beautiful views. Just a very nice place, dinner with friends or a romantic night out. Highly recommend this location!

My first time going and I plan on going again! Everything was splendid! Atmosphere, staff, and food! Started out with perfectly stuffed mushrooms, continued with a wonderfully balanced Gregory salad, and finished off with seared swordfish on a smokey bed of cooked lettuce and topped with tangy red onions and sided with garlic Brussels sprouts! Excellent!

This is a followup to my last post but because of the unreasonable rules where one has to wait a month to enter another review on Travel Adviser, I'm going to enter it now.
Granted, the previous post was accurate on how great the service was and how delicious the food is.
I gave this low rating for two occurrences I noticed. The first being the "Trip Adviser" rating site sign in the waiting area to review this restaurant and also when the bill is brought out, there is a card asking to rate it on the "Trip Adviser" website and also the servers are asking to rate the restaurant. This drive to get customers to rate the restaurant was excessive. The second occurrence I saw on this restaurant's review was the replies from the manager who put "thanks" for the not so good rating. One would think the manager would take the time and effort to look at why the rating was low and reach out to the rater.Last, to get to the eating area, one has to go through the bar which allows smoking.

Thank you to our waiter Patrick for an awesome evening! From the moment we walked we were completely thrilled with JB Hook's. Great food, and even better service. Patrick turned what we expected to be a good dinner into a truly wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back!!

We arrived with a two year old and we're treated wonderfully. Our server Johnny was great at helping entertain her. It has been some time since my wife and I enjoyed every course and sides.

The food was terrific as it always is. We have been coming to the area for almost ten years and make this our favorite place to eat on our last night before heading home. The waiters are always friendly and excellent. Christopher was our waiter this year and treated us well.

Went for happy hour 1/2 price appetizers and got some drinks as well. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the live music that was low enough for us to still carry on a conversation. Definitely $$$$ though. Not a cheap date night.

The view from the outdoor patio overhanging the cliff is fabulous. You can see all the boats and houses. The food is exceptional. We had wafer crackers with a tomato, and cream cheese dip brought to the table for a starter free. Then the potatoes were brought to the table with butter, sour cream, bacon bits real, scallions. The prime rib was delicious. All in all a great night.

What a great view of the lake!! The food was fantastic and are server Nancy was exceptional. Had the grilled Snapper which was absolutely excellent. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Overall my experience was an A++++ and if I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place if your in Osage Beach or Lake of the Ozarks area.

A great place for a date or a nice meal. The food was great. Johnny, our server, was very good at his job, friendly and funny. The owner is often on site, and makes a habit of visiting tables. Many tables have a beautiful view of the lake. If you time your visit right, you can watch the sun set over the water.

Everything was perfect! I got the steak and shrimp dinner and I couldn't have asked for anything more delicious! The steak just melted in your mouth and the shrimp was perfectly breaded. Then after a fantastic dinner I had an even better dessert. It was a fantastic turtle cheesecake. It was light and creamy with pecans and chocolate drizzled on top. Although my favorite part of the whole experience was the view!

Consistently one of the best places to eat while at the Lake. Service is excellent and they have really good choices on cocktails. The wine list is a little abbreviated, given the price point, but that was easily forgiven. The view is fantastic and second only to the quality of the meal that is served. Watch the steps going down into the dining room-- it would be a shame if you missed one and fell in front of the whole restaurant. ;-)

Get the full treatment, appetizer, entree, desert.

    Reservations are highly recommended.

2 stars ONLY because of the view. It was around 1330 hours, service wasn't good, we weren't even sure if anyone was working and who they were. Finally (5 minutes) someone walked behind the bar and I asked her what we should do. She said just pick a table. We did and after 10-15 minutes someone found us, they were not busy. Prices were not as bad as I was expecting but they were not good. When considering the quality and portion size the prices are terrible.

My beer from the tap was flat, wife's margarita was okay. We did have a bit of fun waiting for a bubble to float up in the beer. My son got the $15 shrimp cocktail (6 count) and it was weak. We also got the stuffed mushrooms (4 provided) which tasted okay but not worth the price. Son got the baked cod(?) sandwich. It was actually okay but you had better like honey, it was so sweet you couldn't taste the fish. My wife got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap because my son wanted to try it, it was TERRIBLE! Go to McDonalds heck, scrounge around a dumpster, it was awful. One time I bought a bag of frozen buffalo chicken from Sam's Club, forgot about it for a year or so and let it get freezer burned. I found it and tried making wraps and failed. But, my freezer burned buffalo wraps were FAR better than what we got. I got the Catfish with Jalapeno hush puppies. The catfish tasted decent but the portion was tiny, maybe added up to one small fillet. Of the 3 small hush-puppies that came with it only 1 had flavor. I threw away the coleslaw, that was the worst we had ever had as well.

The view was great but you could hit a drive through or grocery store and eat in their parking lot for that.
