  1. I said I was dining in (for lunch); order was bagged
  2. Was given a plastic fork to eat gumbo. Asked server for spoon, she pointed and said they're up there
  3. Cherry coke tasted like seltzer water
  4. Asked for an extra side of rice (willing to pay)May as well had 2 heads
  5. Will I ever eat there again? No not if they paid me to

  Everything here is wonderful. Red beans and rice and the etoufee (not sure if I spelled
  Right) are fabulous together. Owner and employees are great.

  My friend and I tried J Gumbo's for the first time. Doug, the man working seemed very pleasant at first. He asked us what flavors we liked and proceeded to give us samples. The food was decent. We placed our orders and I told him I didn't want rice and he told me that isnt an option. I had to have it apparently. Once we placed both of our orders he then told us "thats a lot of food for you 2". I just said yeah and brushed it off but said we will be taking it home, no worries. He then said "you should have said that first. Its kind of hard to put this in boxes now". I told him I would do it once I was finished. At this point I just wanted to leave without my food. But we stayed and read the writings on the walls, which is the best part of this restaurant. I personally won't be going back.

  First off, the guy there, maybe (owner) told us, "you couldn't wait" when we were 1 min before they opened. He didn't great us at all. Lady there working was just as bad. Brought the food back to work because we're from out of town. The guys at work said "They're a bunch of jerks there" The food was surprisingly pretty good other than the unpleasant staff.

  Salt, salt, salt, salt. I recognize this place only heats up the food, but it certainly is salty. This applies to J. Gumbo's in general. This store has friendly staff, and great service, but I cannot recommend based on the food.

  Service was great and the food was delicious. Everything was really clean and the bathrooms were nice. I like the writing on the walls. Will be back if I'm in the area.
