If I could rate it zero stars I would. I've been in that school twice every week for the past two months trying to get everything figured out with them to take classes, this doesn't include the many phone calls I have made. I was told to schedule an appointment with my advisor by my advisor for two weeks later to take care of some paper work. Two weeks rolls around and she spends five minutes filling out a form that she could have done when I was there seeing her. They wait until the last minute to do everything and are extremely disorganized. I waited 45 minutes to speak with someone in financial aid while 5 of the 6 workers stood around talking to each other leaving only one of the financial aid advisors to help students. They have a low graduation rate and transfer rate but hell it is a lot cheaper and now I know why, It is cheap so you can afford the medical bills from the stroke you have from dealing with such a disorganized and mismanaged school. Their classes are only $400-$500 per class but the private school I attended were $1,200 per class and they had me enrolled and registered and everything figured out within a day. It takes Ivy Tech months just to get you situated and unless you've had to personally deal with the backwards logic of this school you'll never entirely understand the frustration and lunacy that goes on in there. Save your time and find a school that actually cares about helping it's students and not this money grab.
***Update*** I spoke with Dr. Laws and their records do indicate a conflict with my 45 minutes wait time. How ever their records did not indicate the other three times I visited financial aid due to them not having me sign in. So while Dr. Laws comment is correct for one instance it wasn't for the others. I'll be taking courses with the private college I was attending before considering Ivy Tech. While I do appreciate Dr. Laws reaching out to me it didn't change the situation or sway my opinions of this establishment.response / report this review -

Transferring to this ivy tech in Lafayette, I was going to the one in Evansville for Early Childhood Education. The Professor there was always available for you, anytime you really need them they were just an email away.

Amazing nursing program. It's HARD, but designed to teach you to be the best you can be. The teachers really care and work hard to help you succeed. They're really available to meet with you, email you, etc to help you with any questions or go over tests or anything you need to succeed. I highly recommend this program!

I liked Ivy tech alright while I was taking my general studies classes. I took most of my prerequisites and was enjoying going to school. It was a big let down when I started taking my computer classes. The teacher's gave us exams that where setting the students up for failure. I would not recommend anybody going to this school for computer training. Also the outdated training materials they use are useless in today's job market.

If you need financial aid, don't even bother. They dropped me from classes without notice while I was still struggling with Fafsa, and were VERY RUDE when I tried to talk to them about the issue. They do not care about the students. Teachers are awesome, but if you can't pay and require aid, don't even bother.
