A long standing institution in West Lafayette, it's got great food and a lot of memories for a lot of people. Though in the last few years I've gone there less and less. When they were open all night my friends and I would eat there two or three times a week, now I might eat there three or four times over the course of a year. It may just be me but the thing I always looked forward to the most was the root beer but lately it just doesn't taste the same. I don't even buy it in bottles anymore because the quality has declined so much. That being said I'm still filled with nostalgia walking in there and the food is just as good as it ever was.

Nothing special about the burgers. Typical run of the mill diner food. Just because they were featured on The Food Network doesn’t mean their burgers are anything special. Overall, disappointed. I’ve eaten at plenty of burger joints that are just as good or better.

This place was great! I had a super shake and it was outstanding. The whipped cream was phenomenal, the shake was so good. The burger was also really good. The atmosphere is really unique and made the entire experience that much better. I highly recommend going here if you are in town.

A must-go when it comes to Purdue/West Lafayette. Simple and delicious with their twists. Been going there since well before they were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Even on Homecoming weekend, service was handled pretty well with it being so busy.

My suggestions: Duane Purvis burger with curly fries and Triple XXX Root Beer!

Only downfall is they aren't open 24/7 like they were in my day. Won't fault them for that, though. :-)

This is a very unique diner. The food was really good, and the experience was really fun. It seems like it will be cramped, but we had plenty of room to eat. You MUST try the root beer. I ended up buying a 6 pack of bottles for home.

First off the waitress was very sweet and attentive my 5 year old sone loved her. The food tastes like home cooked. The root beer is excellent. French fries are nice and crispy. The only complaint is the burger patty seemed small I wish I had ordered the 1/3 pound burger instead of 1/4 lb. If I lived in the area I would come here often.

We stopped here on a road trip after reading about the place on a site for roadside attractions. It mentioned XXX had been featured on the Food Network so we decided to give it a go.
Upon first glance the restaurant wasn't impressive. There was construction on the premises and the inside was small, crowded, and gave off the vibe that we were in for cafeteria food at best, concession stand cuisine at worst.
Boy was that impression misguided. The food was delicious, despite being simple and cheap. We each got a different entree and side and I even got the home-brewed root beer and dessert. Every single bit of it was fabulous and our waitress was sweet, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the place's history and recipes.
I'd recommend XXX to my family and friends and intend to stop by there again if I'm ever in the area.

Best burgers in town! Great root beer, tradition for alumni, and friendly staff / owners. Would highly recommend!

Somethings never change, and that's OK. In the case of the Triple XXX it's great. Food is fresh, hot, and delicious as it has been since 1929. Sure it's been on TV, but it has been a local tradition for decades. Don't miss it.

Definitely everything Diners, Drive-ins and Dives said it was! Just great food with no frills! Had the Pork Tenderloin, absolutely awesome! You can dress it any way you want! Very tasty! I highly recommend Triple XXX!

Iconic. Delicious. Historic. Plus if you know what you're doing, you can order a burger better than the signature ones for half the price.

Great food. Burgers are about $6/7 and they're very filling. Staff was super relaxed and friendly. Oldest drive in place in Indiana so there's a lot of history here! Oh CASH ONLY. But they have an on sight ATM.
