It was a quick ride from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard (Oak Bluffs)! The ferry was clean and efficient. It was a particularly beautiful summer morning so the ride was especially nice.
The staff at the parking lot were fantastic very friendly, the ticket window staff was great, the boat staff was great and the snack bar staff was great. My first time ever and the staff was great and very helpful and went above and beyond the staff on the boat went around and asking everyone how it was going. Felt just like family.
Wish I had researched moreboat comes back early. Would have liked to stay longer at Martha's Vineyard. This ferry was close to hotel so that's why we chose it.
Ferry was cancelled due to weather, but this was understandable because it was raining insanely hard. What really surprised us was how we were treated by the staff when trying to purchase tickets (after already paying 75$ for parking for the week and walking with all of our luggage. The girl at the window practically laughed in our face. Told us the 3pm ferry was cancelled and no one knew about later ferries. We asked if there were other options and she tried her best to just get us out of there. I understand having to probably repeatedly tell people the ferry is cancelled is draining, but consider that many visitors have driven a long way (we'd just arrived after a 7 hour drive) and have hotel reservations that they paid a pretty penny for. Have some compassion in how you treat customers. We had a much better experience with Steamboat Authority, will not use Island Queen in the future.
Nice and fast way to get to Martha's Vineyard. The boat is fast and safe. The crew is polite and helpful. There is a snack and drinks bar and adequate clean and well-maintained toilets.
I love going to Nantasket on the island Queen! I haven't had any issues! Very clean. Always on time.
LOVE taking the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard for the day! 20 bucks for parking which isn't bad. If you want to take a car over, take the ferry in Woods Hole.
Amazing ferry Full of fun . Crew very friendly..got a chance of sitting in front seat of the ferry.kids loved it .
The Island Queen Ferry is a Passenger Ferry which travels between Falmouth and Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. The journey going or coming takes about 35 minutes and the round trip ticket cost $20.00. The trip starts out smooth and then after about 5 minutes it gets rough, windy and cool in the Vineyard Sound. My advised is to walk with a sweeter. It’s a wonderful trip and you’ll love it.
It's the ride to Martha's Vineyard. I feel weird giving a full 5 stars to anything that doesn't blow me away. However, the ride was great, in fact on the blazingly hot day we were there it was actually the highlight. The kids loved the top, the lemonade and the soup options as well.
