Ramen horrible, yakasoba horrible. Teriyaki bad. This place has been here for a while. You have a hand full of Japanese places around this place I don't know why it's still here. Need new chefs I can make better food.

Authentic Japanese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere on a bustling Asian heavy Street. There's so much good food to choose from but I'm gonna recommend the Sabashio. So simple, so good.

Good Japanese food and decor. Not a sushi bar. (Made in back).
Ramen is good, other ramen House up road a bit better but this is quiet.
Lunch sushi special is a single roll, $6. Depends on the day what it is.

Food is good here but the reason for the 1 star is the attitude problems of the staff. They act like they hate being there. They aren't mean per se but they will not go out of their way to be nice. Case in point. They do not allow soup to go. You pay the same price for a meal that includes soup whether you eat in or take out. You cannot take the soup to go. OK. Fair enough. However they will not allow you to have your soup in the restaurant while waiting for the rest of your food to go. Mind you, you’ve paid for the soup, but you cannot have it in the restaurant if the rest of your order is to go. If you want a soup in the restaurant you have to pay again. That’s right, you don’t get the soup with your to go order that you paid for but can certainly have a soup if you want to pay again. Of course there is no such thing as logic to Japanese wait staff. A rule is a rule. Trying to ask why you can’t have your soup while you wait is akin to being offensive to them, you have challenged a rule. No soup for you, no soup because to go order! Talk about soup n*zi’s! Horrible customer service.

The caterpillar roll was extremely tasty and the service was super quick. They are open late which is a plus (1am on Thursday-Sat). Tried the oysters and they were too big for my liking and really fishy tasting. Enjoyed the fact that they have Ballast Point beer on tap and you can buy a pitcher for $16.95. Server was polite and very fast with all of his tables. Mainly the local Asian crowd comes here.
