Had a great experience. Service was awesome. Great idea. Will be back again next time I'm in Boston.
Great server. Really mean (what we wanted!) food was lovely. Only complaint was it was SO COLD!!!! Turn the heating on!!!!
Couldn't wait to go to Boston and have some great Sea foodI thought 20 for a seafood "platta" sounded reasonable, until it was brought to the table. It consisted of 5 marble sized crab balls, 3 shrimps, and 1 fish stick. Could not believe my eyes. Gorton's frozen are better. Tasted just awful. And I get it, they're supposed to be rude, but, it was so over the top our party of three was quite uncomfortable. Will never go back.
*Dick's Last Resort at Faneuil Hall in Boston MA.
*Won't go into detail but horrible first and now last experience.
*Waitress was nicer than staff at most regular restaurants. Why??? Should probably be fired
*Chicken tenders (4) $11 very small pieces
*Buffalo chicken tenders not spicy at all
*Southwestern salad bland
*Nachos nasty liquid cheese, boring flavor overall
*Definately not worth the $60 spent!
*In conclusion, if you're looking for the restaurant with staff who treat you like garbage, don't go to Dick's Last Resort. All you'll get out of them is a dull experience, a long wait, and a hole in your wallet from food with no flavor and subpar quantities.
*Very disappointed.
10/02/17 around 3-4pm
This place actually sucks don't go here
We came in for drinks and they said that's not allowed! It's okay we ate there before and the food is terrible anyway!! Don't waste your time they aren't even funny I hope his place goes out of business!
A fun place, the food was adequate, if a little pricey. Getting to keep the glasses afterwards was pretty neat and a nice souvenir :)
Rude service (it's what they specialize in) and high prices. Go if you want to be insulted and pay a lot of money for average food fare
So After Spending A AMAZING DAY WITH MY DAUGHTER AND MY BFF AFTER DRESS SHOPPING FOR MY UPCOMING WEDDING IN 2 WEEKS!!!!! WE DECIDED TO STOP HERE AND HAVE FOOD AND DRINKS BEFORE WE GO HOME. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NO-ONE SEATED US, AS WE FOUND OUT WAS THE PROPER PROCEDURE FROM THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL WAITER EVER!!!!!! WILL NEEVVVAAA WASTE MY TIME HERE AGAIN!#!! AND THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY WE NEED TO HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR!!!#!
My advice is to not come here if you're thin skinned. Our waiter was hilarious and we had a fun time. The gimmick is great. However, the food is bland and terribly mediocre. If you don't think you'll have fun with intentionally rude staff, don't come because the food just isn't worth it.
Great great concept and fun place BUT AVOID THAT FULL BODIED WAITER. Our friends had an amazing experience so took us again. But the waiter serving us (a full bodied guy) was grumpy, not rude in a funny way and wasn't fun like all other waiters or previous experience. Gave us Hats (the most humorous part) in the last minute right before he got our checks and asked for a specific amount on tips, checked the tips we made in front and raised eye brows and said "really" on our 15% tips we left. Based on service we shouldn't have given anything but didn't expect him complaining when we actually left tips.
Even though, at first, I had no clue what was going on, I was able to get into the "mood" really fast. As things escalated, it was clear that Dick's wasn't ready for us. I got very hyped when I saw a billboard about a full lobster, just to then get the terrible news there were no lobster to be found. The food was good enough, with the crab legs taking the spotlight. Big ass beers are what they are called and I got the glass as a souvenir. So overall I think the staff should play along more in depth, it's very fun but when they engage as well. I'm not sure about coming back but it was a experience. I'm subtracting stars because of prices and actual service, which at some point I felt it should have been worse, in Dick's terms I mean.
Fun place with decent food. If you realise the staff are meant to be rude with rough service and play to the part, you'll have fun here and it is fun. Despite being rude, the service was still good with the food coming out quickly.
Fun lunch with the kids though I probably wouldn't bring the kids in the evening when they're going to be a bit more rough.
Kids mac and cheese was pretty decent and not out of a box either.
I visited Boston this past August, and may I say I love this restaurant. I loved the rudeness and talking back that the waitress done, and I have a very huge sense of humor. It was so funny. I enjoy the hats that were made for us, and I love reading the little quotes on the hat which had me dying. We were reading other people hat and getting a laugh out of it. I love this restaurant. I will be visiting it again whenever I go back to Boston. You have to take the sarcasm and rudeness that follow, because if you cannot you should not visit the restaurant. Other than that, you will enjoy the restaurant, people, food, and the sense of humor in the restaurant.
