love this spot. the employees are super nice and friendly
Fish always fresh cheap but good waitress super friendly
Fell in love with place when I called San Diego my home in 2001. Great Japan feel, the crew is respectful, gracious, and hardworking. Even after these many years, I genuinely miss this place and visit often
I've been coming here for over 15 years. It's great people watching and decent food for the money. (I'm all about value). Fun, good, and inexpensive = 5 stars in my book.
great food, great service. It's my favorite restaurant in Hillcrest!
I've been eating their roles in sashimi for many many years. Always reliably good. Not much for atmosphere though.
I love this place, I have been eating here for years. It's good food, and rarely do I have to wait. It's a small restaurant but they have outside seating and are in a great location.
The prices are good and they even have a lunch special.
I would suggest walking here but if you have to drive parking might be difficult, but not impossible.
Lunch is the best time to come, because there is more parking and it's not crazy busy.
The staff is friendly and they work quickly, the restaurant is clean, which is rare in a city location.
I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat.
Can't beat the chicken bowl specials so good and a great price
Good food at a good price, they have afternoon/early evening happy hour sushi specials.
We love it here for happy hour especially. Good crunchy roll and avocado tempura
This place is small and cozy. You order and pay the food and they bring it to you and serve you right! The place was pretty clean and it was great food. The price was great so overall a great experience.
This would be a 4 1/2 star rating. but since the curry here almost taste the real deal from Japan it deserves a solid five. Plus the miso soup always has me feeling like I came home to visit after a long period of time. They have traditional sushi that I prefer over these American style rolls. The yakisoba is the best tasting in all of San Diego, and yes I have went around tasting other places in the county. The portion sizes are correct since the Japanese do not eat like Americans. Also this review is not based on one visit. I have been coming to eat for 14 years and I am glad they hail you to eat free around your birthday.
I've been coming to this Japanese restaurant for 30 years or so it's my go-to place for healthy food in Hillcrest. The mixed seafood platter is fresh and delicious, daily specials rock. Service is quick. Yum. Yum. Yum.
