The hotel was in a convenient location for Newburg Stewart Airport. We stayed there for one night awaiting our flight. The room was average but clean overall. It was at ground level accessed from the outside.
Breakfast was another story. It was very poor and even sloppy. No fruit or yogurt was available except whole oranges. Tables were not cleaned after use. I could go on. Basically forget about breakfast at this hotel. Convenience to airport and Walmart was the only thing this place had going for it.
Do not stay here. There are plenty of other nice places to stay. Staff is not customer service oriented or friendly. Reserved a room for 1 night, staff made an error and booked 2 nights. When we showed up for the night we asked for, they let us know that we had been booked for 2 nights, and when we didn't show up for the first one, they gave our room away, and the clerk at the front desk refused to acknowledge the error made by the staff. We were charged for the night we had not reserved, and were out a room for the night we made the reservation for. He was unwilling to give us a credit. He also stated there were no managers there on the weekends for us to speak with and we would have to wait until Monday to speak with a manager. (As I read other reviews that have been written, I see that the man we dealt with At the desk was the owner, so he lies too). At best, this is a very poorly run hotel with terrible customer service. I will be coming to Newburgh quite often over the next 5 years and will never stay here. I will be letting my collegues in the area and local businesses know that they should never recommend this hotel to anyone. I have never written a bad recommendation in my life. Take heed.
A taste of the 'Overlook Hotel' vibe from "The Shining" nestled in the heart of Hudson Valley for you and your mistress, or family and friends. Also referred to as small and dated, true but the cleaning service is professional and polite along with the concierge and the beds and cable tv are tranquilizing and comfortable. Watch out for those parking lot speed bumps tho, like going over street curbs.
I would barely give this place a star and a half, and that's being generous. When I pulled back the covers on my bed, a roach was crawling. The first morning, there was no "continental" breakfast. The next morning they had the "continental" breakfast and the woman putting out the food argued with me because O was telling her the plates were dirty and that I would like a clean plate to eat off of. She told me if I had a problem, I could just leave and not eat anything. The bathroom tub had what looked like rust spots all over it. I would not stay here again and would never recommend anyone else to either.
The breakfast consisted of fresh fruits along with the regular stuff (eggs, sausage, tea, coffee etc) which was delicious. Staff was courteous and clean. There is an outdoor pool but it was closed due to the weather. Place is clean and we'll maintained. Union square Pizza shop is directly opposite which was very convenient. Also there are other eateries very close by.
Needs several updates. It does have a convenient store but does not sell toothbrushes.
Affordable rates, decent rooms. Nice place to stay.
This is one of the worse hotels..do not stay here. People running in and out of their rooms slamming doors, no hot water, outlets broke, cheap iron melting my pants and when I said something the MANAGER said "there's no way" as he acted like he didn't know what I wad saying. DO NOT STAY HERE EVER. Oh yeah management complained to me because around 5pm my daughter and I used silly string in a open wooded area.
Had basic human needs. Not the worst price for the basics. Can't say anything good about it. It's just eh
