They renovated but the workers are rude.They come up with any excuse to keep your $50 depositehopefully things change soon i told them i will call corporate and they then tried to give me my money back because they knew they were wrong.i caught the worker and a construction worker doing inappropriate things and when me and my partner left for like 2 hrs we came back and both pur doors were wide open.new paint cant fix an old place!Do better howard johnson

The room was nice. Beds very comfortable. The shower was a bit small but the bathtub makes up for it.

We came from out of state for a concert and needed a cheap place to stay for 2 nights. The room was MUCH better than expected and the tub was as big as our outdoor hot tub. Staff was nice. My only complaints are there are no vending machines on site, except for a soda machine and the maid started knocking on our door at 11 am even though check out is at noon. It made us feel rushed. Also they started cutting grass at 8am on a Saturday, so we woke up to that. Rooms were clean, mattresses were nice, balcony on every room and the curtains actually do black out the sun for people who like to sleep in. They offer breakfast 7-10am. Breakfast was more than just cereal, fruit and donuts. They had hot items such as sausage, fresh waffles etc. All in all definitely worth staying at for the price

I came here for the excellent price expecting modest accommodations. What I received was a complete shock. The room was beautiful and completely clean. The mattress was in perfect condition under the sheets. For the lowest price hotel room in the area the accommodation level was unbelievable. The bathroom was larger than my bathroom at home and it contained a beautiful hot tub that worked perfectly. The balcony access opened onto the inner courtyard pool and the furnishings were comfortable. As a frequent traveler who has stayed at many Marriott and Wyndham and best Western and partner locations, I would comfortably say that this is probably the nicest hotel room I've stayed in even without consideration for the extremely good price I was able to book at through Priceline. The hotel staff were polite and greeted everyone as they came into the lobby with the sort of hospitality one expects from a 4 star. The breakfast buffet is complementary and consists of fresh, if standard, morning food, coffee, and waffle irons I will be on the lookout for Howard Johnson hotels as a preference in the future.

Very friendly staff. Don't let exterior fool you the rooms were very nice on the inside! Pool area well maintained, all amenities available and functioning (something I don't see at a lot of inexpensive hotels). Would definitely stay again!

The place is convenient for travels but it is host to an audience of drug users and hookers. We got raided by police there one night. Some of the staff workers aren't thorough in cleaning also.

My husband and I decided to have a night away from the kids but didn't want to go to far so we picked the Howard Johnson in Blackwood. The room was on the small side but it was clean. If we were staying for a few nights the pool and the exercise area looked decent. But we weren't staying but overnight. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful.

I reserved the room a week in advance. I called two days before I was going to the hotel to ask if I needed to bring anything besides ID and the charged card to the hotel with me. I was told all I needed was my ID. When I got to the hotel, the lady checking me in stated I need to put a $100 cash security deposit down due to the fact that I'm under the 25. I told her I was not informed of this when I called to verify what I needed to bring. She just kept saying I couldn't check in if I didn't give her $100 in cash. The ATM at the hotel didn't work so I had to go to WaWa to use the ATM. When I got to the room, there were roaches in the shower. When I was getting ready to check out the next day around 10:30/11am (check out time was noon), house keeping kept knocking on the door. It made me feel rushed. As soon as I walked out the room, house keeping was right there to walk in the room. It didn't make me feel relaxed, instead I felt rushed. I guess this is an okay last minute option but I wouldn't stay here if I have time to plan in advance.

It's a beautiful space. I was actually there attending a church service, and I was struck by what an ambiance the decor created. It's really very lovely. And conveniently located right next to a Wawa 🙌🙌🙌!

It may not be the Hilton, but for being a cheaper alternative for spending a couple of nights it is amazing. Nice staff. Clean room. Pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth it in every way. Ignore the posts complaining about small stuff. It is designed to be a cheaper alternative to the bigger fancier more expensive placed. If you feel the need to nit-pick you have an ego issue.

Worst ever room was dirty, bathroom has piss everywhere, the breakfast was a joke could have got better breakfast out of a dumpster. The people in the office were rude and treated customer bad

Slept here two nights. On night two there were drunk people screaming, yelling, playing music all night long above and around us on a Saturday night. I slept peacefully with ear plugs.
Also our room leaked water from the room above, right above our toilet. I used a towel to goto the bathroom.
Free breakfast in the morning brought us a new experience. The floor vibrating from a church below that building. The drums and music were still loud I could see several guests disturbed.
Other than that our room was huge, bed comfortable and it was in a moderately safe neighborhood.
Go here for an adventure, not a typical hotel stay.response / report this review
