The hotel itself is okay, we had no issues with the room other than a louder than normal air conditioner. I give 5 stars for the woman who runs the breakfast. She is awesome, taking time to visit tables and ask how families are doing. You can tell from her conversations that she enjoys what she does and the families love the attention.

Wow … having stayed at various Homewood Suites over the years, this is by far the worst Hilton experience I’ve ever had. I was hoping other reviewers complaints about the hotel’s cleanliness were exaggerated … they weren’t. The place is pretty disgusting.

It’s also desperately in need of a renovation. Everything about this hotel is old, from the A/C units to the appliances to the furniture. To cap off the experience, the entire hotel lost power (update: it appears the entire area did, so I can’t blame the hotel for this, but it was merely the icing on the carrot cake anyway). Thankfully, it was just as we were preparing to leave and not during the middle of the stay.

The staff was very nice. That is the only positive thing I can say about this stay.

Again, this review is about failing to meet a standard. I would completely understand these circumstances were this a motel, but Homewood Suites hotels are supposed to offer an elevated experience in comfort. If that’s what you’re looking for, stay far away!

Hotel staff were friendly but clearly did not care about member requests. (1) I arrived and was placed in a room that I did not reserve and the hotel staff downgraded me and did not tell me they downgraded my room. If I did not notice this change, they were going to charge me the same rate as the room I reserved. That was red flag - no transparency. (2) I called about this downgrade and the front desk justified charging me the same price because I had 4 people in the room. That was the dumbest explanation that I ever heard of so I decided not to engage that conversation. I went downstairs to talk to the manger Cedric the next morning. (3) The downgraded, smaller room was not clean and ready for a family of 5 as my reservation stated. I also checked in hours after the official hotel check in time. (4) We requested additional blankets at 9pm. These were blankets that were on my original room reservation, hotel staff did not show up until 1am to deliver the blankets which is an absolutely disrespectful hour to awaken us. (5) I called the front desk at 10am to inquire about having my room cleaned and they asked for a time that I preferred. I said 11:30am however no one showed up at 11:30. We had to continue to call downstairs to understand what happened to housekeeping. Someone finally arrived at 1:30pm to clean our room. (6) All of the dishes were dirty when we checked in and they were never cleaned by the hotel staff when we asked them to clean our room the following day. (6) I spoke to Cedric the manager about my room rate being adjusted and he confirmed that he would adjust the rate and he mentioned that I was a valued Diamond member. He was making adjustments on the computer however it was taking longer than expected so he asked me to allow him 15 minutes because he didn't want me to wait in the lobby while he fixed my account. I never heard back from Cedric the Manager for the rest of my stay 3 night stay. I had to call downstairs to understand the resolution to my problem.. As a DIAMOND member this is unacceptable on every level. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone, Diamond member or not. I have been a member with Hilton for over 10 years. Hilton should definitely check into this location because it is not up to their standards.

We chose this hotel because of our previous great experiences with the brand. Hilton should absolutely look into this location because it is definitely not up to standard.

The air conditioner did not work. There was mold on the shower curtain. There were smears of unknown origin on the mirrors. There was a hole in the carpet. The bed sheets did not fit the king sized bed appropriately. There were no mattress protectors. When we arrived there were no towels in the room, but they were brought quickly when we requested them. The faucet in the tub was hanging out of the wall. The building's exterior door did not close without much effort and was left ajar throughout our entire stay. There was also a foul smell throughout the hallways and in the parking lot.

Thankfully I have stayed at other wonderful Homewood Suites locations so I know this is not typical for the brand. However, I will never again stay at this location.

One of the dirtiest Hilton properties I have ever visited and I travel for a living. We chose Homewood Suites thinking it would be up to Hilton standards but this one is dirty, smells bad, and is in poor condition. The floor was dirty and a simple wipe with a wet paper towel turned it black so it's obvious it doesn't get cleaned well. The shower also had some mold or mildew in the shower but not a huge deal.
The breakfast was also disappointing and there wasn't even coffee. First hotel I've stayed at in 24 years of traveling that didn't have coffee with a hot breakfast.
For the area, it's not great but it's not the worst in Memphis. Avoid if you can't handle the smell of Marijuana we smelled it constantly when outside, assuming from people in the parking lot.
We didn't have a lot of interactions with the staff but they were nice. The bed was comfortable. Overall, I would avoid if your think it's nice because it's a Hilton property. We were thoroughly disappointed, especially considering we paid a premium price. This was almost the same cost per night as our last stay at a Hilton Garden Inn but no where near worth it.
