Always enjoy excellent food and gracious service. 👍
Excellent ambiance and food
Great service
Stunning and elegant place. An excellent mansion for a retreat away from the city. The owner Theresa was very friendly and welcoming. I just loved it.
Fantastic. Superior service and inventive European cuisine. Pricy but worth it. Good for celebrations with parents etc.

Superb dinner here (in American equivalent probably "mindblowing and beyond this world" of something approching ) Food was flavorful, fresh products, great execution in a cosy and quiet (quiet yes I know it seems to be something from another century but please give a try someday) and the proud pleasure to have a French speaking Host taking care of your culinary journey.
Merci Monsieur Henkelmanm
This is a highlight and wonderful spot. You must come, if you can. The team are so accommodating and welcoming. The food is always outstanding. I feel revived after a visit.
This was a great place to stay - it was quiet, rustic, and quaint. I thought it was the perfect location - tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag, but a ~5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. Also very close to the beach. Amazing value for the price. Also, it was nice to go to brunch at the Mission Ranch Inn (its sister property) in the morning.
Great dinner! Excellent food and classy place.
Delighted with our stay at the Homestead. Super location, very comfortable and would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Having read the reviews on Trip Adviser we opted for the Homestead and were not disappointed. This is a charming little place so suited to the environment and Carmel.
Arriving at the inn, late at night, the night manager kept peering out of the window between the slats of the shades. It was spooky and strange. That was the first issue. Then the moment you walk into this hotel the pungent rotting smell of unsanitary conditions is overpowering. My mother who is 65 immediately whispered to me that she couldn't stay in those conditions. Speaking with the night manager who only spoke broken English or perhaps he was drunk that night, was a nightmare in itself and required me to repeat everything 3-4 times including spelling out the name several times. Quickly told him that we needed to cancel and left. The next day spoke with the owner, Theresa Henkelmann, who said that she did not have a problem refunding the deposit but that she didn't know how to do it and would have her manager call me the next day. The next day, received no call back. Called again and spoke with the manager, Renata, who was a completely horrid person and refused to the process the refund and then in spite said she was now charging the full rate for a no show. It's really unbelievable the lengths that some businesses will go to in order to abuse a customer. Please avoid this place like the plague.
