Great food, friendly service, and cute decorations. The parking lot was full Sunday afternoon, but it was easy enough to find street parking nearby. There was a 40 minute to 1 hour wait, but there are a few benches inside and outside to wait on. The wait is reasonable, and the food is worth it.
FOOD: I got the comfy chicken biscuit and a pancake as a side. The comfy chicken biscuit was a bit too much for me. The gravy was overwhelming, and it was all I could taste. I still enjoyed the dish, but I'd probably opt for a regular chicken biscuit the next time around. As for the pancake, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfectly fluffy with a slight crisp on the edges. I'm really glad I got it as a side (it's still a full-sized pancake). It was a lot of food, and I left stuffed.
ATMOSPHERE: Don't let the faded exterior fool you. I visited on a Sunday morning/afternoon, and there was someone playing music on a keyboard and xylophone. It was very upbeat and relaxing. Additionally, there are a lot of cute trinkets and art around the restaurant to look at as you eat.response / report this review -

This place is a must try if you're in the area. Breakfast and lunch here only, so get there before 3pm. Signature dish is the comfy chicken biscuit - smothered in sausage gravy, and it's sooo good! Add to that a super friendly staff. Expect a wait on most mornings if dining in, especially on weekends.

We had the best fried green tomatoes… with a horseradish sauce you wanted to eat with a spoon. Nice service great food. Wonderful!

I love love love this place! I keep it simple and go with the basic breakfast but when I tell you it gave me ENTIRE life?? En👏🏽ti👏🏽re👏🏽! Not to mention the staff is awesome! Shout out to Caleb who is the best waiter ever! If he's there ask to be seated in his section!

This place is amazing. They always quote accurate wait times, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious! My favorite is the fried green tomatoes: thick slices and breaded perfectly! I love the cheese grits as well. I usually order the fried pork chop breakfast because that chop is perfection! From seasoning to the just the right crispness in the breading. There is a selection of homemade desserts ALL day, a cool thrift store in the back and amazing art from local artists displayed. Usually I take home a container of their homemade pimento cheese!

Awesome place with an amazing atmosphere. I took a seat at the bar and shared the chocolate pancakes a crispy fried bacon with a friend. The atmosphere was light and friendly and kinda like stopping by your favorite Diner. My waitress was sweet and attentive and even charged up my phone for me which was a very sweet gesture. The gentleman sitting next to me at the bar said that the old style breakfast was also very good. This place is definitely a place to experience as well as the pancakes and bacon were amazing! Atlanta's best breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The Comfy Chicken Biscuit is a Georgian treasure and should be enjoyed by all. The art from local artists creates an awesome ambiance, and it's for sale. I have trouble enjoying a meal there without also going home with some art. This is the place I love taking my friends from out of town to.

What can I say, Home Grown has become an iconic place in Atlanta food scene. They serve up all comfort food you can imagine for breakfast and lunch in a seemingly up & coming neighborhood. Staffs are friendly and down to earth. Prices are reasonable and food is how grandma would have prepared. Extremely crowded in the weekends, which is a great sign. Most noteworthy item for me is their Fried Green Tomato. No one should come to the south leaving without trying Fried Green Tomato, let alone the ones from Home Grown.

They were super packed which is to be expected coming on a Sunday at 12:30, they told us it would be 30-35 minutes and we had a table in about 20-25. There is self serve coffee available to drink while you wait.
It looks small when you first walk in but upon being taken to the back you find that it opens up and there is much more restaurant than you first think.
I had the comfy chicken biscuit which comes open faced covered in gravy and it might have been the best one I've ever had the pleasure eating. My friend got the apple pie and gave me a bite, I think it was the best apple pie I've ever had.

Expect to wait 45 minutes for a table on the weekends but don't worry. The food is worth it. Large portions abound, this classic diner has loads of options for everyone. You pay at the counter after you're done and there's a store in the rear you can browse while you wait. Coffee is $2.00 and is also available while you wait.

How did I find it? I was looking online for a good place that served breakfast when I was blessedyes blessed to to have Home Grown pop up as a suggested restaurant.
The food? So of course I was beyond ecstatic to go and try the place and I was NOT disappointed at all! I ordered the chicken biscuit with a side of potatoes (they were kind enough to saute me some onions with the potatoes) my little niece ordered one pancake, an order of eggs, bacon, and fruit. The chicken was absolutely divine, the pancake was unbelievably huge yet delish, the bacon was fried perfectly and perfectly flavored.
Now to the reason I did not give five starsmy biscuit was dry, bland, and burnt at the bottom. The onions that were served with my potatoes were extremely overcooked and mushy. The potatoes were like rockswill not order any of those things again however the good news is the bad DID NOT out weight the good.response / report this review -

We were visiting for a conference and the staff and facilities were excellent! The spa is beautiful and coupled with a nice steam room that all people who are hotel guests can use. Jonathan was incredibly helpful with giving us advice on what to do and we couldn't believe that we had our own personal driver within a 5 k

I love this place and go here a lot. I've tried several different menu options but my favorite is probably the Lynn stack. Love the atmosphere and the staff too, it's always a positive experience! They have a cute little thrift shop in the back that you should check out if you have time. It's adorable!

Service was great, I loved the atmosphere and the decor. Very cozy place. I ordered the Comfy Chicken Biscuits because of the reviews and that's what they're known for. It had very good flavor, but was not fresh. Pretty much the whole dish was room temperature and the side of bacon I got seemed old and was chewy (can't serve breakfast without amazing bacon). Though I did still enjoy it and would definitely go back if I'm in the area. Overall a good experience.
